We had so much fun observing the Bison and Elk and walking around this beautiful park. There were cabins and camp sites, trails, a beautiful wading pool for kids (young and old) to dip their feet in to cool off. I wish we had more time to explore. We plan to visit again in the future and maybe rent a cabin.

Rented out Cabin 3 for a couple days and nights with my five grandchildren. The cabin was clean, neat, comfortable, convenient, up-to-date and spacious. Plenty of play room indoors and of course in close proximity to birds, bison, elk, pond for fishing and canoeing and trails. A real delight - fun and easy.

I attended a meeting that included dinner in the Lodge. It's a beautiful facility with a wonderful view of the lake.

We stayed in the campground 1. They have a nice area with shaded camping lots. Might want to bring a rake as there is quite a few walnuts. We used a tent and a camper. The tent we had a difficult time finding a flat section in the grass but there were other lots that had flatter sections. They have gravel parking sections for the campers that they have built up. There is electrical hook ups for the campers. There is also water but at each camp site. There is a pretty big playground not too far away as well as shower houses.

We have visited Jester Park several times & love the hiking & recreation options, but we just had the opportunity to enjoy the rental cabins for the first time this weekend. They were great! Clean spacious cabins with well-supplied kitchens (dishes, utensils, full-sized stove, microwave & refrigerator) and the linens are all provided (unlike many other cabins we’ve stayed in where we had to bring our own). Cabin rental includes reserved parking, canoes (with paddles & life jackets), and easy access to the rest of the park. Plenty of fully grown trees on the property provide lots of shade & the cabins are air conditioned as well. I would highly recommend these cabins!

Beautiful, informative, enjoyable and fun. What a great wildlife space!! There is a prairie occupied by bison and elk that harkens back to early Iowa history when 85% of the state was prairie and thousands of these creatures roamed the land; a sheltered space to view a multitude of bird species; a handicapped accessible boardwalk edging a pond; and so many other family and user friendly attractions.

We camped at Jester Park and attended a wedding there. What a beautiful park and camp ground. It was well kept and clean, the showers and bathrooms were clean. It had electrical hook ups and we had a place over looking the lake. There are plenty of things to do for the kids and adults. We went and saw the bison and played in the water and on the playground. The wedding was also within the park and it overlooked the lake at sunset and was an excellent facility.

We were here on the beautiful last day of September. It takes a bit of driving into the park to get to the kids play area and the bison and elk, but a beautiful drive it is. See pics. There's the unfortunate sight of a golf course nearby, but it's still tolerable, even with that there. The kids loved the play area. See pics, again. They were splashing in the water and just having a blast. There are TONS of picnic sites here with grills, many shelters, several toilet facilities, play equipment at a couple of the sites, trails, tent and RV camping sites as well as some cabins available for rent. Everything but the camping and cabins is FREE! Very family friendly. Marcydiner tantrum scale of 5/5-no screaming kids. Laughing? Yes. There's also a wonderfully developed pond with sculpture on the island in the center. We will explore that and post pics the next time we go!

Really cool places and backgrounds for pictures or a nice store with your dogs. We have taken the past two years pictures out here for our Christmas cards.

Great place for photos all times of the year. They have bison and elk on site with a visitor's center.

Camping and some nice cabins to rent.

There's an improved lake with nice wooden walkways. Next door is a golf course. You can often see deer.
