Unlike manzinillo and Puerto Viejo, Punta UVA is uncrowded and offers similar swimming experiences. Be sure to take cushion or blanket.

We rented two single kayaks for $8USD each for a 1.5hr paddle along Punta Uva river (about 2kms). It was a pleasant, peaceful experience - we saw a lot of turtles, but not any other wildlife.

Yes there are many sandy places without corals. If it is raining strongly the area close to the river is very polluted

yah its a long trip 5 to 6 hours - the semi traffic from Limon to San Jose is unreal - but sit back and take the scenery in at a slower lol pace - once past Limon to PV its like half hour
