Excellent food, poor covid care
Dec 2020
A super menu beautifully served at a sensible price, but oh dear me, desultory COVID CARE. The staff had masks coming on/off. Tables were wiped over sometimes but never carefully, the menus were just piled up and reused. The table markers were just stored in a jug and re used. We had a view into the serving area where all the staff were jostling, coats hung up near food,no washing of hands , going to move chairs with no real reason and no distancing/masks at all in the kitchen area.
I realise it is very difficult but things could improve with very little effort.
We will go again, but only eat outside and take care of our own COVID CARE

Fantastic Lunch
Sep 2020 • Couples
We dropped in here for lunch and it was sooo good. We’re both veggie, and they had lots to choose from. All really fresh and really interesting, not your bog standard butties here. Give it a try.

Stop off on a canal walk
Jun 2019 • Solo
Adelphi mill is a good place to stop when walking along the canal.
It has some interesting little shops and a reasonable cafe. It is a great building, very much one of a kind and has stunning views across the Cheshire plains

Great stops along Macclesfield Canal
May 2019 • Couples
Adelphi Mill for boat trips and bike hire from the wharf and Clarence for various businesses, Cafe Waterside and The Discovery centre, where there are interesting facts and photos of Bollington and free guides to the area.

Nice walk along the canal
Mar 2019 • Couples
If you fancy a nice flat walk alongside the canal watching the barges sail by, then this for you. Even better if you have a dog. Nice cafe to call in if you fancy too.

Nice place to see
Aug 2018 • Couples
Adelphi mill is a lovely plave to visit, you can see lots of interesting things to buy from the various craft shops, and sit by the canalside and watch the boats go by, and because you are high up on the canal banks you can see above bollington town towards the hills

Dog friendly!!
Jan 2019 • Friends
My favourite type of cafe.......a dog friendly one. Right by the canal so ideal to exercise your canine companion!
I've visited the cafe a number of times now for lunch. Each time with a dog. The food is tasty, the prices reasonable, the staff are friendly.

Highly recommended.

Visited the cafe
Aug 2018 • Solo
I had a full English breakfast and it was really nice. I almost didn't make it as 8 couldn't find the parking so drove back down the hill and parked in the free car park and walked up but I was told there is parking. Really needs signage as I pulled in near the cafe and there's no parking there.

Good cafe especially in the summer
Nov 2017 • Friends
Ideal as a cafe stop and when the weather is okay one can sit outside and watch the barges go by.
It is very convenient if walking down the towpath and the Middlewood Way finishes close by.
They have a good selection of snacks and light lunches and the prices are not too dear.

Lovely break
Jul 2017
A great place right on the canal side to stop for a snack or light meal. Dogs are made very welcome. The toasted tea cakes with jam where very nice and tea served with extra hot water was a bonus. Certainly hope to call again.
