"Alice" was phenomenal! I took my 2 grandkids- aged 10 and 6. They were mesmerized by the action, choreography, acting, and costumes. Our seats in middle of balcony were perfect to see the acrobatics.

Looking Glass Alice is fun; the cast is great, especially the caterpillar lads, who deliver great energy through every bit they do - the red queen is especially delightful (GREAT costumes). It's a touch long (the conversation w/ HD on the ladder bores a bit), and too bad the chairs aren't more comfortable. Glad they're enforcing vaccine status, but masks are a hindrance that aren't really needed in this type of venue.

We have been to several shows at Lookingglass and they continue to amaze me. Whether it be an adaption, or an original play, it is always captivating and engaging. Recent production we saw was Alice. The artists are true professionals that create unique experiences. This is definitely a hidden gem

A masterful performance! A gritty gulp of Chicago DNA, Jane Bryne style. Chicago’s aches, pains, rights and wrongs in full display. Politics as only Chicago can do. Love and pride of neighborhood. The story and memory boldly handled in this treat of stage and theater. Truly a must see.

It was amazing. My 8-year-old loved it. My mother-in-law doesn't speak English but she could understand most of the show too. I loved the way they played with different scales. The tin soldier and the ballerina's dance towards the end was very moving.
The show was definitely family-friendly and foreigner-friendly. I have already recommended it to all my friends who are planning a trip to Chicago.

Lookingglass produces very stylized theatre, but does so with such integrity of emotion and storytelling that it remains accessible to audiences of all types. Which is to say, it’s definitely an experience for everybody, but theatre-inclined individuals especially should make experiencing Lookingglass a priority.

We just had a chance to see their production of "The Steadfast Tin Soldier"...magical and family friendly at the same time.
First of all, it's done completely in mime (until the "Final Song", there is live classical music, but no spoken words...), which makes it easy for non-Americans visiting Chicago.
Secondly, the production is done in the historic Water Tower and Pumping Station (two of the few buildings to survive the Great Chicago Fire of 1871...)...which allows for very interesting entry and exit experiences.
Lastly, the company specializes in athletics, gymnastics, and music as well as acting...this will be a memorable stop in Chicago!

A wonderful experience. The only production is true to the story. The set designs are beautiful and imaginative. We loved it and plan to make this an annual family ev.

Every production I have seen at Lookingglass is incredible. The vision of the directors is awe inspiring. Literature doesn’t just come to life on this stage, it explodes into life. If students could learn a book or short story, poem or play in this fashion, they would never forget it.

Truly magical. The entire show is nothing but fabric, wood, papier-mâché, light and human talent, and it is just delightful for people of all ages. "Frankenstein" was great too. This small theater in the old Water Tower pump station often offers creative, talent-filled productions.
