I attended a conference here. Service was great and I had the BEST vege burger of all times at the bar in the hotel. It is a few blocks from the lake with a gorgeous walking and biking trail. I highly recommend experiencing the trail....More
I’ve attended several IMTS tradeshows over the years. The 2018 layout in the North, East, South and West halls were multilevel. There were 17 miles of just isles at this event. Bring your walking shoes if you plan to attend the IMTS.
I had not been to Mccormick Place for a trade show in over 15 years. I was impressed with the major expansion and renovation. It is nicely laid out, connected to multiple hotels and has its own Metra train station.
Was here for a conference and can't believe the sheer size of the place. I easily did 10000 steps on my fitbit just getting from one room to another during a day. What an amazing construction effort it must have been.
Attended a huge convention at this site. It was pretty tough to navigate at times, until you got the hang of it. There was also a shortage of bathrooms and the coffee and breakfast lines were looong. If you attend a conference here, the Hilton...More
For conference centers, McCormick Place isn't bad. Here's why:
1) Size: It's HUGE! I attended a 22,000+ conference there and it felt much smaller because of the sheer size of the place. It's massive and you'll get thousands of steps walking from room to room....More
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you happen to visit during football season, you may bump into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park
is one of Chicago’s premier locations for green space and recreation with views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Take a stroll down memory lane in the historic Prairie District where you can enjoy views of old historic homes. Restaurants, theaters, and clubs are spread throughout the neighborhood along with a collection of burger joints along Michigan Avenue just across from the park.
Parking is solid lots of space you would get a spot not sure the price it was not too bad for the event I attended.
Uber is always a good option in the city.
I would get an Uber and go downtown for dinner.
