About
Irish brogues abound at this barnlike gathering place for indie-rock, folk-pop, and other hard-to-classify acts. It's tucked away in a residential neighborhood -- far from the usual tourist haunts -- so you're pretty much guaranteed to be surrounded by locals. Besides Guinness and other Emerald Isle beers on tap, there's a full menu. Traditional Irish music sessions are held Sundays.

The new owners are putting alot of money in a renovation. Rumor has it that it will open in 2020. I can't wait to see it done. it has to be better then it was.

We actually came to the Abbey Pub by accident, as we thought that the band we wanted to hear was playing there. However, we found that the Abbey Pub has closed for good. There is no longer a functional website and the phone number has been disconnected. A shame to see the Abbey Pub close.

I was there on their special show on Black Wednesday. They had head lining comedians from around the country performing for no cover. Great drinks and burgers and AFFORDABLE! Check them out.

We visited due to Bar Rescue. The ambience was now what I remember, but fortunately enough, the food was actually great! Fish and chips were gone in a matter of minutes! We were there after a Cubs game, so maybe it was too dead because they didn't have a show until later that night?? Maybe Jon Taffer needs to do a check up because bathroom was dirty and falling apart!!!
