The Riverwalk is a delightful, clean, scenic, accessible outdoor stretch along the Chicago River. There are a number of restaurants and places where you can just sit and watch people and the waterway. Or take one of the river cruises.

Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a
good starting point to sample the city's energy and
flavor. This central business district boasts
Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier
shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep
your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many

There are only a very few restaurants on the walk itself. 1 is dog friendly. If you are asking about places "near" the river walk there are a few more. Do an online search for dog friendly dining guide.
