Although it was cold, the walk was nice. Can gawk at all the skyscrapers from right next to the river. In the center of the city, but peaceful. Should be even better in the summer. There were signs saying there was a floating garden, but...More
the tour was perfect as the day was cold and were able to duck into the occasional lobby to warm up. The tour was concise and informative, with historical humour and fascinating tidbits from Chicago's past.
Beautiful (whoever thought that word would be associated with the Chicago River?) oasis in the middle of the city. Great to place to watch boats go by, people watch, catch some sun, have your lunch, get some exercise, ............
This beautiful river cuts through downtown Chicago, giving rewarding views of the city and the river below it. The walk itself around the river is just breathtaking. You'll get glimpses of the most astounding skyscrapers. I was told that they offer boat rides through the...More
We visit the Riverwalk every time we're in the Loop and it just keeps getting better and better, with new restaurants and other venues continuing to open. You can catch a water taxi, take an architectural boat tour, enjoy a glass of wine, listen to...More
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of
the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

The Riverwalk is not a tour - you can go anytime you’d like. Fireworks are just off Navy Pier. You can see them from the east end of the Riverwalk , from Navy Pier or just about anywhere along the lake front during the summer on Wednesday nights at 9:30 and Saturday nights at 10:15. Enjoy!
There are only a very few restaurants on the walk itself. 1 is dog friendly. If you are asking about places "near" the river walk there are a few more. Do an online search for dog friendly dining guide.
