Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

This play was fantastic. We had heard about it for a few years and really wanted to experience it for ourselves. It lived up to everything we heard. The cast was fantastic. The stage was great. The audience was very lively. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

This show was worth the hype! We bought our tickets fairly last minute, but was able to get pretty decent seats and not break the bank. The only complaint was that the seats in this theater are on the narrow side, and I'm an average-sized female and still found my seat slightly "tight." Go, if you haven't already!

What a great show! Great theatre! It is worth every penny and will leave you speechless. Park in the Hamilton garage and you will pay 1/2 price to park.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience watching Hamilton. We laughed, we cried, we were captivated by the production. We paid close to $1000 for 3 seats with a “limited view” (mezzanine row D seats 13, 15, 17). There were very few scenes with characters performing from the portion of the stage right we were blocked from seeing. It was not really an inconvenience. I felt bad for the people in the box seats who had to stand the whole time to look over at the performance. The staff were wonderful and friendly. We arrived about an hour before show time and there was already a queue forming. We were able to get in, purchase souvenirs and use the restroom without rushing to be seated. Would highly recommend and early arrival.

I love this show. It has such a great energy. The resident cast was perfect. The staging was top notch.
The theatre is not particularly large, but the autistics still work well in the limited space.

The building is beautiful and staff very helpful. The show was the best. Even though you knew the history, you were still on the edge of your seat. Best Musical ever.

I dont listen to hip hop or rap and I thought that I might be spending a lot of money for something that I could not understand. I found that the plot and lyrics were easy to understand and the presentation was very interesting (a historical event told from the perspective of current street talking folk). Worth the money

I liked very little of Hamilton! I liked King George and the music he sang. Other than that I did not like it. I couldn't understand the words. I took a bus trip with tickets included and the price was not expensive at all. But I had to sit in the nosebleeds and I don't like high places. But I would not have liked the musical either way. Save your money it's not worth it. It wasn't that good. I don't like rap music anyway.

We visited Chicago for a full week. Our group included everything from an elderly widow to a 7 year old kid. Our entire group all agreed that Hamilton was our very favorite thing that we did while we were in Chicago. Even upon returning home, we can't stop listening to the sound track and singing the songs. The cast was exceptional. It truly exceeded our highest expectations. I wish we could see the show all over again!

Hamilton deserves all of the accolades it has received and more.
This musical surpasses all expectations. The performances were all terrific. The set design and costumes are ambitious.
The overall theme of time and time’s relevance throughout the story is incorporated with a turntable stage that simulates the movement of an analog clock.
This musical is infused with kinetic energy. The run time says the play takes two hours and forty-five minutes with a fifteen minute intermission, however the flies so fast you will swear it took longer to read this review than watch the performance.

How far in advance can I purchase tickets through the box office for Hamilton? And how much will I save in fees - found ticket on Ticketmaster online, but with more than $20 in fees, I wondered if I can purchase through the box office 2 months in advance and save some of that.

There isn't a service fee if you buy directly at the ticket office.
I don't how far in advance they sell tickets directly at the the theater ticket office.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Is the "suite service" worth it? I read that there are long lines for the bathroom and drinks during intermission, so I'm wondering if the suite service would be worth the extra money to avoid the lines. I'm trying to decide between mezzanine row B with suite service included or the cheaper mezzanine row K. Looks like views would be good in either one. Any advice? Thank you!

I cannot advise about the seating, but we were on the orchestra right center in row x, seats 118-123 if this will help you decide. Even though the balcony was over our heads, we had no problem seeing the actors and the entire stage and enjoyed the show. Do avoid seats where limited or obstructed view are noted because there are posts.

Most of the orchestra and mezz seats indicate "Limited or Obstructed View"; how obstructed is the view? The last thing I want is to spend a ton of money coming into the city to park and eat but not be able to see the whole stage

If you’re in the upper seats you can’t see the upper part of the stage. There is movement there but all the action is on the stage. Pretty good sight lines all over and excellent sound system.

Does anyone know what time the theater opens before the 730 pm show? I can’t find those details anywhere. Not on ticket, official website, etc.

Exterior doors should open an hour before showtime; it gives time to patrons who want to buy show merchandise, and snacks and drinks from the bar.
Interior doors should open 30 minutes before showtime.
I’m typing “should” because there could be a technical, or last-minute actor substitution before the doors open. That didn’t happened when I was there during the Independence Day holiday. 😊

One last question. I’ve noticed same day tickets can be purchased for the premium orchestra seats normally $597 for $192 or $267. I can’t figure out though how the price between these 2 is determined. I thought maybe weekends were $267, but I’ve seen weekends $192. Were driving from Indianapolis, and I’m trying to plan ahead. It’s our Christmas gift to our Hamilton fan children, and we can only attend with the discount, hopefully $192. Thanks for any insight!

I can't answer the $ question but I will say, having just sat in Row T of the Orchestra last week that I would have been just as happy in the first or second row of the balcony. CIBC is a smaller, more intimate theater. So if you find seats in your price range in the balcony I don't think that you will be disappointed.
