Sweetwater Creek State Park is an easily accessible park, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that such a place existed so close to Atlanta. There are multiple trails with varying difficulty, and the Red trail which is the easiest of all, was what...More

Did the white trail which is a 5 mile loop that combines most of the varieties of habitat in this beautiful park. The trail could have used more markings; however, it was well laid out and combined woods, fields, river ways and creek beds into...More

The trails here are quite nice and very well-maintained. It was nice to walk the red trail along the creek for a while as an add-on to the longer white trail. Parking was a little difficult on a Sunday, but I'm assuming that may have...More

Came here on Labor Day while in Atlanta for a football game. Had an excellent afternoon at the park. There's a small playground for toddlers, nice hiking trails, picnic areas, and great views.

The hike along the creek and loop back to the visitor's center is over 4 miles, but it is a beautiful hike. It is perhaps just a bit challenging at points, but not difficult. You will see the ruins of the old mill, which was...More

My family enjoys the hiking trails and the views from the rapids by the mill ruins. Great light exercise that even our pressa canario enjoys.

No pier. There were people fishing off of the banks. There is a bridge but it is pretty high so I am not sure if fishing off of it would be possible.

There really isn't a place to park for free. The main road is pretty busy and any curb/roadside parking would probably be dangerous and or a good way to get a hefty ticket.
