Hi Mary Ellen..
We are sorry that you had a poor experience at a welcome center.
I believe that you may have stopped at the Florida Welcome Center located just across the border approximately 6 miles down the road from us in Florida.
Passing through on a Sunday, but apparently that is not when visitors to the area come by as it was closed. The inside looked nice. There was some information available outside. And loved the cut out photo locations.
Stopped by, basic set up with brochures etc for surrounding area, won't take long to see it, good point - very convenient on/off of highway 95, good for a nice a/c break, restaurants and gas stations close, noted electric car hookup in parking lot
