Great shell location
Mar 2021 • Couples
This is the perfect place to find sea creatures and shells. Many get trapped in the rocks as tide goes out. Great snorkeling. Lots of bigger shells, crabs, smaller octopus, fish and even some small stingrays I’ve seen in the rocks. This sits just south of crescent beach. You can access it by walking around the rock wall which is about waist high.

Shells and sea creatures plus it’s picturesque!
Jan 2021
Our family visited Point of Rocks this morning 45 mins before low tide (& about an hour after) this morning (Jan. 14, 2021) . We have three kids (14, 10, & 7) & we parked at Siesta Beach Access Point #12 (6490 Midnight Pass Rd) and it’s a short walk from there along the beach to the wall...in low tide, rocks are above water to walk on (yes, wear flip flops or water shoes) to then jump up on the top of the wall. Walk around on the wall to the other side, where beauty awaits...moss covered rocks and many tide pools, loads of shells (many with little crabs in them, so be careful to not take those ones!), pelicans’ resting place, calm and clear water amongst the rocks to see sea urchins, crabs, clams, etc. We didn’t see any kinds of shells we hadn’t already found along Siesta Key Beach at low tide, but there are a ton more to choose from (e.g., sizes, colors, etc. of every shell variety otherwise found). It was a lot of fun and the kids already want to go back! Just know the tide comes back up quickly- even at an hour after low tide, the rocks that were nearly fully exposed for us to walk across to get to the wall and jump up we’re fully covered by water when we went back. Plan to get wet up to your calves or higher, depending how long you stay! :)

lovely little town
Dec 2020
Nice beach, beach umbrella rentals at main beach. Many accesses. I would like to visit again. Many good restaurants within walking distance of most hotels and resorts. Social distancing and masks wearing was good.

Picked the hotel I stayed at to be within walking distance of Point of Rocks was hoping to snorkel. With the strong wind and the hurricane that just passed there was no getting out there, waves too big. But there were a ton of shells and beautiful birds every morning for a great photo shoot!

Narrow beach.
Oct 2020
Very narrow beach to sit on. There was a bit of a crowded feeling. If you like to look for shells there is plenty of shells...

This is an area of rocks just off the beach at the end of Crescent Beach. We were there at low tide. You could walk veryfar out away from shore. The water is very clear and you can see a lot of different fish in the rocks when you snorkel. Would highly recommend.

Rock Point Snorkel Siesta Key
Aug 2019 • Family
Great snorkel location at the bridge between turtle beach and crescent beach. About 6 feet visible and on a great day 8 to 15 feet visibility. People come from both beaches to snorkel. Mornings are best for snorkel. The Rocks are like reefs that draw fish.

Snorkeling
Mar 2020 • Friends
Really cool snorkeling got to see everything from sheepshead and cowfish to a mackerel and some near slot size snook. Water has decent visibility and underwater landscape is pretty cool probably as good as it can get North of the keys.
