Efficient, quick, cheap, and enjoyable. This ferry shuttle service to Peanut Island is great. Easy, free parking, and cheap rates ($12/adult, $6/kid). They also rent snorkeling gear, and sell snacks/drinks/sunscreen right on the boat. Our captain was a great tour guide for the short ride over. This ferry is a small price to pay to have an incredible day on Peanut Island. Honestly, for the experience of spending time on this type of great island you would pay a lot more in other locations.

This is the best way to get to the island and is worth every penny. ($12 round trip for adults.) The staff was friendly, helpful, and were really quite wonderful. The ride didn’t make my hubby seasick, it’s short and not rough at all. We snorkeled, and learned that the visibility is best at high tide. We not only saw schools of beautiful fish, but also saw manatees. The water was warm and clear; visiting the island was a highlight of our entire trip to be sure. Bring your own food and drink, we also brought a beach chair and umbrella too. The restrooms on the island are immaculate, and we felt safe the entire time.

My boyfriend and I used the shuttle to take us to peanut island. I ride was fun and inexpensive. We were able to bring a cooler with us, but saw others bring paddle boards, pets and carts. We had such a great time and will recommend to everyone!!

This excursion was wonderful! Arrived at Marina and parking was easy. Walked about 1 block to catch shuttle. We brought our own picnic lunch, chairs, a beach umbrella and our own snorkeling equipment. They do have it to rent if you don't have your own. Paid and were on on way. 5-10 minutes and we were pulling into Peanut Island. Could not believe how beautiful the water was. The Park was also immaculate and the snorkeling was pristine. I was definitely in my happy place for the next couple of hours. The amount of different kinds of fish were so cool. Even saw a small barracuda. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely be back!

Quick boat ride to the island. Bring a big sun umbrella! Brutal no shade. The snorkel gear we rented from the boat was worthless crap. Snorkeling was terrible. Go elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback. However your review is highly misleading. Peanut Island has shaded pavilions & observation decks along the pathway. The snorkeling is fantastic. Marine biologists from The Reef Institute monitor the reefs weekly. Their reports show the corals & fish activity are healthy. Peak snorkeling is at high tide, that is when visibility is best. There is a tide chart linked to our website to plan your visit accordingly. As for your snorkel gear, I apologize you may have had an issue with them. Did you contact the number on your boarding pass? We always exchange equipment if needed as long as we are notified. The captain meets you at the dock to exchange. If you would like to provide more details on the equipment rental or snorkeling conditions please email bsalttourboat@gmail.com.

Easy to park. Ticket booth staff was friendly and shared info about the island. Boat arrived on time. Comfortable seating, smooth crossing. Takes about 10 min or less to get to the island dock.

The shuttle staff were awesome and shout out to the super friendly staff that check you in too. Short trip to peanut island and omg the water was gorgeous. We snorkeled and saw so many fish and a manatee swam by us too!! Can’t wait to do this again.

Please note this is a review of the water taxi service and not of Peanut Island itself, which gets 5 stars.
First off, this is NOT the regular water taxi service with Capt Joe and crew. There is now a new water taxi service - no comparison to Capt Joe's service. We go to Peanut Island every few months. Our friends recently went and advised of their disappointment with the new service, but this is more convenient than Sailfish water taxi. We had company in town who love going here so we headed on down to the marina for the taxi. Needless to say everyone was disappointed there was no Capt Joe. The price has increased now to $12pp. The new drop off point is quite a long walk from the snorkel area. This was difficult with small children and elderly. The old service dropped you off at the dock right next to snorkel area. New crew seemed bothered by all the questions we were asking. Unfortunately if you want to go to the island your options are limited so you must pay and go....but bring back Capt Joe! Peanut island is a wonderful destination and gem of Palm Beach County. The staff and crew should remember they act as stewards for PB County and their attitudes act as a 1st impression to this lovely island. It seems they know people don't really have many options of getting to the island so they just don't care. Be aware with new drop off location and small boat it is more difficult for small children and elderly. Not sure where old water is but bring it back and Capt Joe and his crew!

As of October first, Captain Joe's water taxi is no longer located at the Riviera Beach Marina. Unsure if he is operating from somewhere else.

We arrived in the mid afternoon to take Captain Joe's water taxi across to Peanut Island so we could tour the Coast Guard station and Kennedy bunker. On our arrival, Captain Joe had about 8 empty seats on his vessel, but instead of taking our money and advising us to hop on, he warned us about the impending weather conditions. He advised us not to go across to the island, and also spent time telling us all about what we would be able to see there on a better day. He gave us his phone number and informed us that we should ahead next time so he could advise us as to whether the day was suitable for our visit. In being honest with us, he lost four fares, but gained a great deal of respect.
