About
The "Pass", as locals refer to it, was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County's #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.

Nice place to visit, if you can find a parking place that doesn’t bust your wallet
Aug 2021 • Family
There is a lot of nice shops there, clothing, Surf style and novelties like sponge soaps and fancy popcorn.
Pizza, ice cream and even an arcade. But, we went there to eat lunch at a sit down restaurant........ and this where the only 3 stars come from= PARKING is awful.
Even going there to a restaurant- it was 30$ to park in the only empty lot there. Kinda puts you in a lousy mood to know that we paid that much for 2 hours- hopefully it was an all day rate at least but it didn’t do us any good cause we had to go to the airport.
Parking is a big big problem.

Closes early!!
Jul 2021 • Family
We got there around 9:30pm on a Wednesday night. We figured since it was summer, shops and dining would be open but most shops were closed or closing soon. The boardwalk was basically empty and dark with a few people finishing eating. Probably a nice place during the day; typical touristy type of shops.

Pleasant pass-through

Love this collection of gift shops, restaurants, and local businesses. Plenty of pelicans and boats to view on the small boardwalk. There are also some outdoor food options with the view. Convenient parking lot and public restrooms close to it all. Overall great area for a stroll, eats, and shopping.

Depressingly touristy, crowded, overpriced . . . with so many great places to visit in and around Madeira Beach, pass on this one. (E.g.: $30 to park, if even just for an hour!)

Don't miss Kilwin's Ice Cream, Chocolates, and freshly made popcorn mixtures.

The best ice cream! Very large single waffle cones. Get the waffle bowl if you want scoops or more. Cones and bowls were both nice and crispy. The cone will be very top heavy when getting two scoops. The seven of us enjoyed 12 different flavors.

Dirty. This area has really went downhill. Nothing special about stores. Only one was clean which was next to a candy store. If I were this lady, I would move somewhere different. Went down to eat at Bubba Gumps, but after being told over an hour wait and seeing how gross the area was (not restaurant itself), we left, which was a nightmare in itself due to crazy traffic.

Fun times and enjoyed the shops!

We were looking for something kinda touristy and low key and this seemed to be a good solution. Enjoyed the walk around all the shops and along the water on the boardwalk. Kinda thought it would be bigger. Very clean and everyone friendly! Park was a great price too!
