Nice hiking, drive and amazing views. Da definite must see and time to explore this are if you are visiting. We saw walkers and runners on this 10 mile trail despite below freezing temps and weather conditions

What a great idea to take a drive up the mountain to Lookout Mountain Park. During a trip to Golden, Colorado earlier this year I had a rare afternoon off and decided to check it out. Besides the amazing views, you'll find Buffalo Bills' Grave and Museum, the Pashaka Gift Shop, trails and yes the views. The 'Lookout' itself has a large area where you can see Denver and Golden and on a clear day, you can see miles and miles out to the surrounding areas and mountains. Be careful driving up the mountain and as I saw a couple of wrecks and abandoned cars along the way. The morning was overcast so many parts of the mountain round were still covered in ice, from the sides of the mountain that didn't get any sun in the morning. It was winter and the weather can change at any time like any other snow-covered mountain. Take your time driving the road. There is a couple of pull-offs on the road up to Lookout Mountain if you have to stop.

As you get closer to the parking area, there are signs to clearly identify where you are and where to park. The same parking lot for the 'Lookout' is the same parking lot for Buffalo Bill's Grave, the Museum, the gift shop and the Lookout area. In the winter most of the trails are covered in snow and not accessible, I did see a few people coming from the trails. You will also see several TV and radio towers nearby.

Luckily it was a clear day, and sunny when I arrived. I checked out all the sites and walked the perimeter of the lookout and spent a good amount of time there looking at the surrounding area. It is serene and picturesque so bring a good camera, if you have one. With everything to do up there even on a wintery day, you could spend a few hours up there. The Lookout Mountain is a great way to spend an afternoon. If you're ever in Golden put this on your list of things to do, you will not be disappointed.

I had very little time to explore the area; but made the drive to Lookout Mountain. It was a beautiful drive. I enjoyed the scenery along the way and the view from the top. I'm not sure if the museum to see Buffalo Bill's grave was open (due to COVID), but the area is still a place to visit.

Did a quick trip up the mountain during a business trip to Denver. It was within a 1/2 hour drive from the city and the drive was nice and pretty views of the mountains. The views were breathtaking and there are plenty of areas to take sit and enjoy the view and take some beautiful pictures. Plenty of people were walking the trails around the area as well. We even got to see a group of Elk that were grazing on the side of the road.

It was packed with cyclists on a nice Easter weekend. I believe it is a drive many cyclists travel to to accomplish the feat of climbing it. You might want to drive or cycle it on a weekday.
The view and the varied scenery are worth the slow drive.

This site, at an elevation of over 7,300 feet, affords sumptuous views in almost every direction. Understandably utilized as a lookout by the Utes, it is also renowned as the gravesite of Buffalo Bill Cody, who had seen a lot of the world and wisely settled on this singular site as his permanent resting place. There are a number of user-friendly trails nearby. With the Denver skyline in one direction and the Rockies and its foothills in others, it would hard to choose a wrong time of day to visit, but sunrise is especially recommended, as its animating rays can effect electrifying change on the land and tree-scape.

We enjoyed a very scenic drive up to the mountain and once we got to the top! Luckily, we arrived at Buffalo Bill's grave when someone was doing a free talk about the history behind his final resting place. It was very informative! We also visited the museum next door and there were many artifacts and a lot of information present. There is a small restaurant on the premises where we got drinks and there is a gift shop.

We drove the Lariat Loop route from Colorado Scenic Drives, finding this convenient at end of our first day in Denver. The traffic up Lookout Road after 4p wasn’t too bad on a weekday, but this time of day did not give us much opportunity to explore the view at Buffalo Bill’s grave, as that business closes the gate (in and out) at 6pm.
We enjoyed the quiet and massive geology of Red Rocks. Use Entrance 1 to get close to amphitheater. Definitely recommend getting out and climbing the stairs to the stage and seating. Little town of Monument would have been nice to explore, but rain and time of day got in our way.

We were there for the first time, and this spot was a hit. We came up from Buffalo Overlook to see Wild Bill Cody's grave and see the view. Both were really neat to see. The signs around his grave tell the story of how he ended up there. The view of Golden, CO is wonderful, as is the view of the Continental Divide -- if you drive Colorow Rd nearby.

I visited Lookout Mtn with my boyfriend at the very end of Oct 2019, right after the big blizzard and although we couldn't do any hiking or anything, just the views were absolutely amazing. We stopped at the first area and then we drove up a bit further to where the bigger parking lot is and it's definetly worth the drive. I can't wait to be back when it's not snowing so that we can Hike the trails.
