I love to bring children here.
Oct 2020
When ever I bring children here they think it is just for the fun of the activities. But the truth is that they are learning something useful all the time. The variety of exhibits keeps their interest. Even us adults have fun too.

Good discovery museum
Jul 2021
This was a fun stop on our day-trip to Fort Collins. It's good for all ages with a variety of things to see and touch. We have teenagers, and they enjoyed it. I was pleased to see staff sanitizing a few times during the 2 hours we were there. My only disappointment was in a lack of labeling in some areas. Items would be numbered but not have labels telling you what they were.

I am here visiting my daughter and 2 grandsons for the Christmas holiday. I was blown away upon entering the museum!

Seeing a almost 6 year old racing from one exhibit to another while telling his Papa about each one, was an amazing feel good experience as he was totally into learning. Whom ever funded/sponsored and facilitated the museum, my hat is off to you!

Great fun for anyone at any age
Nov 2019
Found a groupon for this, and it was SO Cool. It has a little bit of everything for everyone in the fam! Definitely a good option for kiddos, too. Certain sections are catered to kids. There's exhibits on music, on science, on natural history, and the Native Americans that lived on the lands. I was a little disappointed with their black footed ferret exhibit, but I was misled thinking the back garden area was the exhibit....woops! They also do super cool shows, which I haven't gone to yet, but it's on the list!

Good youth oriented, hands on museum
Aug 2020
The museum has free parking. The adult admission is $12 with discounts for seniors, students, and children (under 3 years old is free). The exhibits are mostly hands on and youth oriented--much like a discovery center. There are a few live animals on display such as frogs, snakes, lizards, and tarantulas. There is an especially interesting exhibit about music making. They require masks and have many hand sanitizer stations throughout the exhibits.

A gem for the entire family
Feb 2020
Was visiting Ft. Collins for a conference with my adult kids and grandchildren. We spent a lovely snowy afternoon exploring this well curated museum. From the dome theater to the special exhibit about video games, everyone in our group was entertained, challenged and engaged. In fact, we came back later in the week to see more. A must do for any age in Fr. Collins. Great staff as well.

Friday morning visit
Jan 2020 • Family
My 4-year old and I visited the Museum of Discovery on a Friday morning. We arrived as the museum opened. There was a school group there before us so it was a bit hectic but we managed.

There were interactive exhibits related to music with drums, a guitar, and bass. We spent most of our time in this area and with the train set. There are also areas on space, the railroad, and animals. We went outside in the “back yard” where there was a path and instruments.

We also took in a show for an extra fee in the dome. Staff were super helpful and we spent close to three hours at the museum. We had a muffin and cereal in the cafe for a break. You cannot take food or drink into the exhibit area.

Take the Kids
Nov 2019
Being a retired teacher and a current museum volunteer, I am always interested in ways to educate and inspire children. This museum does not disappoint with lots of interactive exhibits. It even has a separate area just for toddlers.

A totally amazing experience that is very interesting for adults as well as children!
Oct 2019
I visited with a friend and thought perhaps this was mainly for children. However, there are many interesting things to see and do for adults. It has many hands-on exhibits, animals with information and hands on exhibits, natural history, and Fort Collins history areas. The music and planetarium are amazing. Perhaps it would be best for children from about 3 years up. We had an amazing time and could have spent all day there! They have a little cafeteria and gift shop as well.

Probably best for children at least 3 years old or older.

We visited with our kids (ages 12 and 16). They both really enjoyed the music area, we spent about 45 minutes in that area, then moved around the rest of the museum to see the animals, natural history, and Fort Collins history areas, then back to the music area for a second visit before watching a show in the planetarium. This was a very engaging museum, with exhibits appropriate for all ages.
