We visited Meridian Lake during a recent Colorado trip. Meridian Lake is a popular destination in both summer and fall for its fantastic views, proximity to town, and the amazing color provided by season wildflowers and golden aspen foliage. The very long and narrow natural...More

We used this hike as our first day of altitude acclimatization stroll. It does have a bit of up (if you come up via the dirt road) at the beginning but then it is relatively flat. It has nice views. It was a really good...More

Steep path to lake, not for the elderly or weak of legged. Nice tranquil scenic setting. Quiet place to enjoy to yourself. Sit your chair out and enjoy the waterfall from the parking lot.

I made the relatively 1 mile plus hike to Meridian Lake, aka Long Lake, on a crystal clear morning where I encountered no other hikers. There was little wind so part of the surrounding countryside was reflected in the lake's calm waters and, as a...More

The hike up to this lake was surprisingly steep, but it was also over very quickly and well worth the effort. The water is lovely--we saw people swimming, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. A number of dogs loved it as well.

We hiked up the steep slope to a wonderful surprise at the top... a beautiful mountain lake. We were hoping to swim, but the water was quite cold. It was fun to dunk our feet and splash around. Not very crowed at all and beautiful...More

We took the "easy" trail and went in the early morning - only saw about 3 other people. The dogs enjoyed a swim - really lovely quiet spot when we were there. The "strenuous" entry was packed with cars the previous day and i suspect...More

This is a very moderate hike (but be prepared for a pretty long , but easy uphill hike to reach the lake itself). Once you reach the lake, it's flat and easy along the shore. Lots of big and beautiful aspen trees everywhere (can't even...More

The trail we took to Meridian Lake was moderate and a beautiful walk. The flowers were impressive and the views of the lake gorgeous.
