    Rio Celeste Fee Pool
We did not go into the Tenorio National Park. However, we visited the free pool and it was tremendous ! Simply put "Rio Celeste Fee Pool" into your GPS and you will find it. Right underneath a bridge is a beautiful river and a blue color lake that you can swim in. It is a bit chilly but sooooo worth it. It was one of the most beautiful things we saw in Costa Rica. We felt like we got a great benefit of the unique blue water without the time, effort and expense of going into the park. When we visited there were 2 or 3 people there, so we pretty much had it to ourselves. We went in late November just after a couple days of rain and were afraid the water would be muddy. Nope !! Striking blue water. Highly recommend.

    It’s alright
I’d say if you have the time go. However it is way out of the way of anything with a pretty bad road if you’re coming up from San Jose. We were on our way to Nicaragua so we stopped by for a quick hike. Glad we stopped but also glad we didn’t go to far out of our way to see. As of right now one of the bridges is out so you don’t get to finish the hike. Too many people if you ask me. It took us 2 hours to do it. With us running the last little part of the way down. Not possible to move quickly going up. Just too many bodies. Price is 27 dollars for 2 foreigners 🤷🏽‍♀️ Pictures of this place are actually better then in person.

    Just an okay place
We took a detour on our trip to visit this park because of a blog we had read. It was well laid out with some challenging areas to walk around and somewhat muddy in spots. All of these things we were prepared for and able to do. It's a pretty place with a waterfall that was okay. It was many steps to get to and for us, not worth it. If you haven't seen many waterfalls then it would be worthwhile to see. For us, it was a bit underwhelming. The route was pretty, but nothing we hadn't done in other parks in Costa Rica and other places in the world. There is a lagoon, and at the end of the trail, a place where two rivers meet and cause the water to turn blue because of the mineral content. Again, it was pretty but not really worth it for people who like to hike and experience something a little different.

    Cool in a sunny day
You have to be lucky to get a sunny day and enjoy the blue color of the lagoon otherwise you will see it brown. The walk is enjoyable, the waterfall, lagoon, viewpoint, and the spot where the 2 rivers meet. You can also enjoy a swim in the fresh water

Easy Walk to Beautiful Turquoise Waterfall
We booked with a tour that drove us from La Fortuna to Rio Celeste. Drive was 1 h 40 min each way. The Tour guide was knowledgeable and showed us many unique plants. The Waterfall was the highlight - requires to go down to 250 steps though (and back up), but it was worth it. Beautiful Turquoise Water! The path to the Waterfall was an easy hike - about 1 mile long - on pavement. You can then go further up to see the Volcano viewpoint (if it’s not cloudy), then the Lagoon and where the two river meet up. The hike is a bit more difficult, more slippery and muddy if it rained recently. I didn’t think the hike after the Waterfall was worth it. I would just turn around after the Waterfall unless it’s a clear sky and you can view the Tenorio Volcano at the viewpoint. There are fruit stands across the parking. Fresh Coconut juice was $1. Worth it!

    Worth the hike.
Just a 1.5 hours drive from downtown La Fortuna. This place is truly beautiful! Upon arriving at the entrance you will see plenty of space to park. There's a charge for parking and also a fee to enter the park. In my opinion, the difficulty of the hike to get to the waterfall and the lagoons is not high but only in you are in good shape. It can rain at any moment here so pack a raincoat and wear a pair of boots or sneakers that you are not afraid to splash with mud. After you hiking back to the entrance you can buy refreshments and food from the vendors around. Main facility has bathrooms.

    Crystal blue waters
Rio Celeste is definitely worth the drive! The water is breathtaking! This is something that you don’t want to miss! The hike takes about 2-2.5hrs with plenty of breaks. There’s a bathroom outside the entrance which is clean. Parking cost $4 and the park entrance was $12.

    Visit with family
Beautiful water and gorgeous waterfall! Lots of steps but doable. Our family of six hikes there and took tons of beautiful photos and hiked back. We entered at 1:00pm and left the park at 2:30. We bought sliced pineapple from the vendor in the parking lot right next to the entrance (parking $4). I recommend this lot and you must pass the parking attendants in the left side of the road to get to this lot on the LEFT right beside the park entrance. We also walked across the road to get some refreshments after the hike. Fun day!!

    A Must-Do Hike!
This is considered one of the best hikes in Costa Rica for a reason! Not only will you see abundant wildlife as you navigate the trail, the waterfall itself is spectacular and the chance to see the blue river and where it changes color is something extremely unique. Along the way, you'll be treated to a majestic lagoon and a bubbling section of the river. Parking was easy right outside the park (for a small fee). I would recommend going early to avoid crowds. Parts of the trail have significant grade and could be muddy or slippery when wet. Be sure to continue past the waterfall to the end of the trail, or Tenidero. No wading or swimming is allowed inside the park, but you can wade in the Rio Celeste at the bridge crossing just outside the park (you will cross that bridge as you approach the park).

    Amazing!
We stopped and did the hike on our own on our way from Springs Resort to Dreams Las Mareas. A perfect way to break up our trip and a driver stayed with our stuff. Definitely a sight to behold and highly recommend. There was some steep parts and stairs but nothing too difficult. Took us two hours to do the whole thing.

Great hike. Some up and down hiking but the falls, scenery, and wildlife were amazing. Took some great pictures.

Hike was treacherous!! Water was pretty but not worth the climbing up and down to the pond. Stairs better to the waterfall but we were too exhausted to enjoy .

I took a one day tour from La Fortuna (1.5 hour drive away), and had a great guide ( Crystal) lead us through the trails, looking for wildlife and explaining things we came across. Trails can be slippery and when raining, puddles form quickly, so be prepared with gripping footwear. Binoculars may be good to carry, as well as a raincoat/umbrella.
Check in allows you to bring no food into the NP.

My husband and I wanted to experience the wildlife and rainforest when we visited Costa Rica and chose this tour. We were blown away by the animals we saw - 2 types of sloths, coati, 2 frogs, 2 snakes, 2 monkeys, and a toucan. We were so excited about this. Our tour guide, Esteban, made the tour even more incredible. He was extremely knowledgeable and dedicated his time to help us see animals. Highly recommend and ask for Esteban!

Tubing on the river at a private Finca (estate) was a religious experience, beautiful flora and fauna, sloths, stork and noise jungle. Kudos to Alex and Anthony a couple of kids younger than my sons, but with experience like they were born on that river. Also Teban our guide from Destination Service in Liberia Costa Rica was wonderful as well.

I had hiked here once before with a guide. This time I hiked without a guide- you must purchase your ticket on line through Sinac. I recommend going early in the morning-since it seems to rain here in the afternoon in september. I wore topo shoes- the trail is groomed, can be muddy but was fine this time. I brought a rain jacket, water. Trail is marked well. There are a lot of steps down to Rio Celeste- take your time and enjoy it. After the waterfall, go further up the trail to see the mixing of the waters, Small bridge, gases seeping up through the water, and enjoy the sulfur smell 😀not too strong. This is the most beautiful waterfall I have ever seen!!!

A really lovely waterfall that is truly one of a kind. I have never seen a waterfall so blue before! To see the very clear definitive colour flocculation too between the two rivers was also something I will never forget. It really was a picture perfect waterfall that looks exactly like a holiday brochure! I’d say it is definitely worth the trip and you won’t be disappointed. However, be aware that the park is very busy. We got there pretty much as soon as it opened and there were already lots of people there. The earlier you get there, the better I think. As we were leaving we noticed how quickly the park filled up, so definitely be an early bird!

It was beautiful, it’s gets a 4 for that but it is touristy location. There is just so many people and we were there in the off season. You can’t swim here, you can just look at the falls. There appears to be more to hike but it was closed off when we were there.

You will pay a fee to enter, it’s a provincial park fee. You need to register first then pay but they have wifi there it’s just slow to do. There are guides that will do it for you as well, it’s a little faster and there is no extra fee.
