Average beach with average scenery
Jun 2021
This is an average beach with an average scenery. It is good for people living close by for walking their dogs. But as a tourist destination, you can easily skip this beach if you have other alternatives.

Easy beach access
Apr 2021
This is one of my favorite places for hiking and watching surfers in the cold water! The parking is free and easy, with plenty of spots.

Nice big beach
Apr 2021 • Couples
Nice big beach; not for swimming or kids as is dangerous surf; nice public restrooms; great stop while driving the Marin Headlands loop.

Kind of tricky to get here since have to approach from Sausalito thru a tunnel that is only way in / out.

The views from Headlands are great and definitely worth the time to drive around, stop here for lunch and walk in the beach,

One of my favorite beaches
Feb 2021 • Solo
visit this beach but read up on the geology first. The geologic history of this whole area is absolutely amazing. On this beach you'll find fine grains of sand on one end and pebbles on the other end. The size of the grains increases exponentially with every step. The view from this beach is beautiful. This is not a swimming beach, and do not let kids get in the water. It is dangerous. There's a great opportunity to hike from this beach south over the hill to a small quiet secluded beach.

Beach & Trails Are Easy and Fun
Nov 2020
There are numerous trails at this beach. You can watch the surfers, go in the water, or just go for a hike. The hikes take you to gunneries built in 1938. Very interesting and not challenging. Public restrooms available. No charge parking.

Dark sand with small pebbles

The draw of this beach is its proximity to SF and the Golden Gate Bridge. Go through the tunnel to Ft Baker past Rodeo lagoon and on to the beach good running and hiking there as well

Great views and close to The Marine Mammal Center
Feb 2020
I'm bias since I volunteer at the TMMC but the view from there is outstanding and a short walk to the Rodeo Beach. Worth a visit to both.

Take a Break Here
Feb 2020 • Friends
We usually take a rest break at this lovely beach when doing a big loop in the Marin Headlands. Start at Miwok stables, go up and around, then down through Gerbode Valley to the beach. Lovely lagoon on the way there. The next segment of the hike climbs the Coastal Trail back to the starting point. We love this loop hike and the restful beach.

Refreshing and restorative
Jul 2019 • Couples
I could’ve spent more hours there, just watching the ocean. It was a clean beach and many locals bring their dogs. There were not many people there and I felt rested. There were some surfers out and more people as the afternoon progressed. I was warm in my sweatshirt, windbreaker and fleece, altho some people were more lightly dressed. I was glad for all the layers.
