Small, welcoming staff, amazing wines, picnic area and bocce court. What else one can need to celebrate a birthday with friends.

Highly recommend- delicious wine and interesting history!

Loved the Nichelini family winery. Such an interesting and amazing history, terrific staff (thank you Morgan and Bob for the great service) and even more amazing wine. We loved everything we tasted from the sparkling wine, to the rose, to the reds. Everything was delicious. It’s a little off the beaten path but Highly recommend.

This winery is the original family homestead, on the way to Napa. Great history, great wines, lovely family staff!

Good Wine. Great History Great Tasting Value
Aug 2019
It's out of the way - on the other side of Lake Hennessey, and you literally park on the side of the road, but once you set foot in the 1890s-built house-turned-tasting room, you will feel the family's vibe. The tasting room is legitimately the house multiple generations of the family lived in, and the winery is currently run by the fifth generation. Having that family connection creates a connection to the wine that is hard to find in other locations, and having the great-great-granddaughter sharing stories during the (what seemed to be generous) pours was an added bonus. You will have the opportunity to walk through the house, explore the grounds, and more importantly, enjoy the wines.
Nichelini poured a white blend (Roman Press), a red blend (another Roman Press), a Muscadelle, a Zin, and, since it's Napa, of course there was a Cab. I didn't try one that I disliked, and while I have my favorites, I would recommend a trip to see what sticks out for you.
Feel free to bring a picnic. Unfortunately, there is no food service at the facility (we were not seeking food, so that was not an issue for us). I would recommend.

Best winery in Napa!
Jul 2019 • Couples
We have been going to this winery since 2015.
We found this hidden gem by luck!
We are so glad we found them.
The wine is great. The family who runs it are so informative and helpful!
They have a beautiful picnic area to enjoy your day.
Don’t miss it if you are in the area.

Worth coming back!
Dec 2018 • Couples
Once upon a time, many years ago, we went for a drive in the mountains and stumbled over Nichelini Winery, and we are very happy we did. We have been back several times. Summer or winter, sunshine or rain, it is a lovely drive, and a great place to visit. The family takes pride in both their wine and their history. Our last visit, we discovered their Roman Press Red and loved it. This is a true family winery and you leave feeling like you visited with friends. If you visit during a weekday, call ahead for an appointment. You'll be glad you did.

Favorite Wine!
Oct 2018 • Couples
We visited 6 wineries so far and this has been the best tasting wine. We were greeted by a 5th generation original owner. This place is up the mountain and worth the drive!

Don’t miss this place!
Jul 2018 • Couples
Great hospitality from Jeff Nichelini, LeAnn, and Scott. The drive up the mountain is worth the price of admission alone! The wines were phenomenal and well-priced. This is a great place to picnic and enjoy a nice day. You could bring a family or dog, if you want to. Nichelini is not a slick, bigtime winery - my wife and I loved it all the more for that reason.

Fun afternoon of wine tasting and great picnic place
Jun 2017 • Friends
I was on a "girls weekend" and we found this gem. Much like the Napa I remember (reasonable tasting fee which is waived with the purchase of their delicious wine!) The grounds are fabulous. We had a picnic, enjoyed playing corn hole (there is also bocce ball). The BEST part was Leona, part of the family, and her story of this wonderful winery. The drive is beautiful as well. Away from the "touristy" spots. Kevin was our tasting host and was great. Such a lovely spot and great afternoon. Really GOOD wine too!
