A New Favorite: Pristine Gorgeous Winery
Jul 2021
Our favorite wine tasting experience during July 2021 Family Get-Together. What a wonderful winery in the historic stone building that reminds us of SW France. Brianna is passionate about the vineyard, with deep understanding of the area and the wines. She took us to tour the demonstration vines, the cask room etc. The tasting room is pristine and surrounding areas gorgeous/picturesque. The wines are delightful. The vineyard is certified organic, and proceeds go to a foundation for cardiac disease research. A winery with great purpose and impeccable service - totally worth the visit!

Our favorite Winery Tour!!!
Jun 2021
This was absolutely our favorite winery tour. The building is absolutely beautiful. Our host Galen spent a lot of time with us. He explained the history of the winery, the growing of the grapes and the making of the wine. We were most impressed to hear that all profits go to a non-profit medical foundation for cardiology research. Make it a must on your wineries to tour!!!

Too great to not join!
May 2021 • Couples
Ehlers Estate was the highlight of our Sonoma-Napa Valley tasting tour. The competition was stiff but the Ehlers experience was so wonderful that we just had to join their wine club. Galen was a wonderful host.

The wines, experience, facilities, Leducq’s legacy and foundation’s support of cardiac research were too compelling to pass up. Ehler’s “1886 Cabernet” is simply the BEST wine that I have had the pleasure to enjoy. Indeed, all of the eight (8) wines that we tasted scored 8.0 or above on a 10-point scale. The Jean Leducq (9.0) and 1886 (9.5) Cabernet Sauvignon’s scored highest. The 2017 Petite Verdot (8.0) was interesting and we look forward to pairing it with either stewed meat or BBQ ribs. I’m looking forward to receiving the first allocation and returning for more!

Always a lovely visit
Apr 2021 • Couples
This was our 2nd tasting appointment at Ehlers. The first time was late in 2019, just the two of us. It was a lovely time. Then COVID happened. Well, we thought it was time to come back, this time with friends.
Galen placed us on the back porch of the old country house. We had a wide-angle view of the vineyard and that Spanish style house in the distance. It was later into the afternoon and the sun was sending out these yellow-orange hues. It was quiet and perfect for a laid-back tasting.
We started with their Rosé, which had a medium body, crisp with stone fruits and just so on the sweetness. I’d say, raw oysters on the half shell would be lovely with this. Then, we went to the Sauvignon blanc and again, it had a medium body but it flowed in the mouth with no edge, no bite. I’d pick a medium grilled pacific salmon with fresh greens with this. Then, we got serious into the reds: we sampled three of them. I thoroughly enjoyed the 1886. I’d drink that alone, with like-minded company. The Cab Franc came close behind. Their Portrait is one of these very balanced red blends that would work well with just about any dish. You know, medium bodied, low tannins, no edge, an all around pleaser. Maybe a Provençal style roasted bird.
Through all this. Galen told us about the original 1800’s barn, the newer structure beside it, and the vineyard. He also talked about wine country life. Thanks for making our afternoon most enjoyable, Galen!

Outstanding in Every Way
Sep 2020 • Couples
Hands down our favorite stop in Napa — a perfect blend of wonderful wines, personal service, gorgeous atmosphere, and a truly exceptional story and mission behind the entire operation (every dime of profits funnels to a nonprofit that invests in cardiovascular disease research).

We arrived with absolutely no intent whatsoever to join any wine clubs during our trip, but we were so blown away by the experience, the hospitality, and the wine that we didn’t think twice before signing up, and we cannot wait to receive our first batch upon return to the East Coast. This is a must-stop on your Napa trip.

Cheers to Laura for the tremendous wines and special thanks to Bradley for a terrific tasting. We are thrilled to be a part of the Ehlers club family.

Best Winery in Napa
Mar 2020 • Friends
Of all the wineries we visited during our Napa stay, this one was hands down our favorite. The building itself is absolutely gorgeous & holds tremendous history. However what made this a special stop for us was the service we were provided with. I feel so bad because I cannot remember the 2 gentleman’s names (too much wine) who helped us. One spoke with me for hours & we bonded over the loss of our parents- obviously terrible, but he made me feel like I was talking to a life long friend. All while we were drinking amazing wine- stop in (with a reservation) if you can. This place is just different than the others - they truly care!

My family have been wine club members off and on for years. Last week I visited the estate for the second time. I visited 8 other vineyards during our short stay, and while a few of the other vineyards had 1 or 2 wines I thought could be considered better, Ehler's provided the most consistency across the board for a great price. Every wine was fantastic. It's always our families favorite visit. Having our names on the chalkboard, waiting for us at our tasting table is a nice touch.

Bernard led us through the tasting and gave us some valuable pointers on cellaring and peak times of some of the wines we had bought with them over the years. Ehler's allowed us to store our picnic lunch we brought in their fridge, which we enjoyed out in the Olive grove after our tasting. Ehler's true true strength is in that they don't have a multi year waiting list in order to purchase wines like some other vineyards, but still offer a very personalized and boutique feel. Can't wait to enjoy the 2011 1886 Cab we picked up from the library and can't wait to visit again!

Amazing Winery Experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oct 2019 • Couples
I live in Florida and came all the way to Napa with my fiancé to experience the winery, This was my 1st visit out to Napa Valley , I would have to say the hospitality and customer service here at the Ehlers winery is nothing less then Exceptional.

All the staff was so welcoming and friendly and just made you feel at home.

I was so amazed by Laura Díaz Muñoz as she is also so amazing as she was working so hard she still took time to make us feel welcomed and explain the process that was going on at that time. such a strong and amazing woman.

Thank you all for making our experience at the winery one of the most amazing experience we have had.

Thanks again.

THE BEST IN ALL OF NAPA - I proposed here!!!
Sep 2019
WOW where do I even start?! There is absolutely nowhere better than Ehlers in the entire valley.

Staff - the most knowledgeable and friendly staff in the valley. They are so passionate about the craft of wine making at Ehlers and have the most beautiful facility that you get to experience on the tour. You can see their dedication to excellence in every step of the process. Bradley and Galen and crew are so friendly and fun, they'll all take such great care of you.

Wine - there's no better cab than the 1886. It's so full and smooth and elegant, it's incredible. The Sauv Blanc and Cab Franc are also incredible.

Harvest Party - As a member, you can get access to their 2 annual parties. We went to the Harvest Party the day after the engagement and had an absolute blast. Highly recommend joining and getting tickets for next year, amazing food and unlimited Ehlers wine, there's no better combo :)

Engagement - Galen and Bradley were so helpful in getting my engagement organized. I came by early morning to check out the property and find the exact location I'd be proposing. I met Laura, the winemaker, and she showed me the perfect place to ask. We started the morning with the tour and Galen made up an excuse to steal my parents away, leaving Allie and I with some privacy. We walked up into the vines of Block 4, where they grow the grapes for the 1886. I propsed to Allie and we came back to the barn/tasting room where I surprised her with having her parents there to celebrate with us all weekend! The Ehlers team gifted us some Woodhouse chocolates, we enjoyed the rest of our tasting and went off to to lunch at their recommendation - Goose and Gander!

How do we say thank you enough for this fabulous and heartfelt review?! We were equally as excited to help plan and execute your special day! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it. It was a pleasure for all of our staff to get to meet you and your family and celebrate with you at our harvest party. We look forward to welcoming you back for your first anniversary!
