We made a stop here before the long way to Tallina. We didn't believe that in a winter here is so beautiful nature. You can drive here in all seasons!

Tolkuse bog is a beautiful example of an Estonian raised bog, and very easily accessible and navigable one at that. Situated conveniently along the Pärnu-Riga highway, while the trail itself is not very long, only a couple of kilometres, unlike many other bog routes that measure upwards to 10 km. Stunning scenery, beginning in the pine forest with the path leading up to a 18m high observation tower, and continuing to the bog pools at the furthest point of the trail that you shouldn't miss.

The circular 2.2 km trail, partly on boardwalk, is situated in Luitemaa Nature Reserve. At leisurely pace it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. The trail winds through Tolkuse bog, across sandy dunes covered with airy heath pine forest and leads to Tornimägi hill. There’s an 18 m high observation tower on top of the hill, offering stunning views of Häädemeeste coastal meadow and the Pärnu bay from one side and the Tolkuse bog from the other side. The study trail leads to the largest bog pool, where the water lily, bog bean and dwarf water lily grow. Along the boardwalk you can spot sundews, beak-rush, tussock cottongrass and sphagnum mosses of various colours. A special landscape and a lovely environment great for kids and adults alike

This a nice trail through the woods and the old coastal swamp. Easy to follow, as most of it is an elevated wooden walkway.

This is a very pleasent walk in the interesting lanscape at the hill and between the bog lakes. This is quite easy trail. When the weather is good you could spend there 1-3 hours. The nature is beautiful and everybody could find some interesting plants. Wonderful trail for everybody. You can even pass the part of it when you are at the wheelchair.
