Neighbourhood: Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.

Pantages was a great day trip
The Pantages theatre is a beautiful venue! Its right in the middle of all the action on Hollywood/Vine/Argyle. We sat in the mezzanine and felt that it was still a great view. The place is aesthetically pleasing filled with art-deco everywhere. They have ample bathrooms located in various areas for your convenience, The ushers that we came across and asked questions were very friendly. Before the show, we were reminded not to use any phones/video which was reassuring. We're here to watch a performance not people holding up their phones. As for parking, we chose to park in the Pantages theatre garage up the street, Yucca/Vine. We paid for it online and it was a short walk down Argyle street and you're at the theatre. We printed our parking receipt and showed the attendant, easy peasy. We chose the 2pm showing and we were allowed to park from 12pm -6pm. Depending on what time you leave the show, you may have to wait to leave the garage. We left right after the show, walked to the garage and got out in about 10 minutes because of the line to get out, no biggy. Additionally, the garage has tandem parking BUT you don't have to wait for the owners of the car behind you to leave. The attendant keeps the keys of the car behind you so they can move it if you arrive before the owner of that car. We didn't have to tell the attendant because he saw us right when we got in the garage. He kindly moved the car behind us and we were out of there. Overall, great experience and will definitely come back.

The Best Theater in Los Angeles.
The Pantages is hands down the best place to see a play in Los Angeles. What they offer are for the most part musicals, but they also have concerts and serious topic plays as well. If you are in town and care at all about theater, you must go, unless you live in Manhattan, then you win. The Pantages was built in the 40's and is art deco. It is continually updated to keep the original art deco style. It is just stunning inside and out and it is right on Hollywood Blvd. and in the front is the long walk of fame. The ceiling is beautiful, the entire place is stunning. They have great shows, mostly traveling but some with the NY cast. The first 20 rows are the best, on the floor. The mezzanine first 5 rows are good and the balcony is okay. The lobby is beautiful and there is a full bar area to the side of the lobby. Parking is for a fee in a nearby lot. The staff is great. They actually know the theater and can direct you. They have been trained as opposed to other places where their function is questionable. They will guide you to your seats if needed, and answer any questions. You will love this place. Go there.

    Great space for musical theater
Beautiful Art Deco historical theatre. I used to have a season’s pass here, and it was well worth it. Saw so many great musical theatre here: Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Book of Mormon, Hello Dolly, A Bronx Tale, Miss Saigon and Les Mis. I usually sit in the side orchestra seats before mezzanine, which offers a great view of the stage. Past seats: * Past seasons ticket seats were row M, far right orchestra, and I was pretty happy with these. * ORCHRC, Row F, Seat 210-211 * ORCHL, Row T, Seat 9-11 The only time we didn’t have a good time here was watching Phantom of the Opera but that was mainly because of the stage production deciding to only use a portion of the stage, causing an obstructed side view. I also saw Aladdin with a few friends in the last few rows of orchestra, and those seats are not worth it as the actors look like ants from that far plus the mezzanine above causes a little sound interference.

We have seen many productions at the Pantages Theater and have never once been disappointed with this venue. We just saw "The Simon and Garfunkle Story" there, and the sound was amazing! The art deco everywhere is eye candy, and the parking was easy peasy.

One word of warning: we got our parking ticket online at ParkWhiz and paid $10. When we pulled into the lot (watch for yellow and black signs for the Pantages/Avalon Bars parking), just around the corner on Vine Street and behind the theater, they were charging $30 CASH ONLY. Wow, we saved $20 by getting our ticket online. I had printed it out, and the attendant waved us in and told us to put the printout on our dashboard. For those who don't get their ticket online and don't have the cash, there is an ATM machine next to the lot kiosk.

There are plenty of ushers in the theatre, even in the restrooms to make sure things are moving quickly and efficiently.

If you have extra time, it's interesting to walk along the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Blvd. and also on Vine Street looking at the sidewalk stars of Hollywood celebrities. Also right there on Vine is the iconic Capitol Records building, the world's first circular office building.

The lobby is art deco-gorgeous...take time to look around!

Venerable theater for musicals. I grew up coming here to watch shows (i.e. Wicked, Book of Mormon, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, Rent, and most recently, Hamilton) and have always had a fantastic experience. The venue is gorgeous and the acoustics are great. Metered street parking - come earlier to find a spot and give yourself enough time to walk over. Bathrooms are available on the ground floor by the bar area. There’s a concession stand with snacks like candy alongside the merch.

During masks are required to be worn during the entirety of the show and proof of vaccination is shown prior to security. You’ll scan your tickets at the front (note that there are five lines) and then you’re in. There are a ton of great shows that come through the theater, and you’ll have a great time.

The theatre was amazing as always, very helpful audience services helped my daughter when the sole of her boot broke. Six is an 80 minute musical sold at a full musical price. Great show, but the divas in the cast took one look at the dozens of young girls waiting for autographs, turned up their noses and hid inside until everyone left. Absolutely this is your choice ladies, just remember who buys the tickets and we will remember

I came to see Hamilton - not my first time to see the show by any means, but my first time at this theatre. This place is absolutely gorgeous! Women’s restrooms are on either side of the lobby, as well as on the mezzanine level. Alcohol must be consumed in the designated lounge areas, but water/sodas/snacks can be taken to the seat. Proof of vaccination is required to enter, and masks must be worn the entire time unless actively taking a bite or sip. The sight lines are lovely in this venue, making every seat a good view.

I've had the opportunity to see a number of great shows at The Pantages (Cats, Wicked, Les Mis, etc.). This venue always impresses. In fact, it blows other established venues away (Dorothy Chandler, Wiltern, etc.). I'm always disappointed when going to the LA Opera at how minimalist and unimpressive that venue is. The Pantages is impressive visually, great seating and service. If you have a chance to catch a show here (of any type), it is definitely worth the experience.

The Pantages is an absolutely beautiful palace of Art Deco architecture. The theater is just magnificently decorated as are the other parts of the theater. The lobby is also very impressive. Built in the time of vaudeville, the seats are very comfortable and the sight-lines are all very good. Truly not a bad seat in the house, even from the mezzanine (or balcony). The sound quality in the theater is fantastic. It was a wonderful place to experience Disney's Frozen. A true landmark on Hollywood Boulevard at Vine Street. There is a Metro Red Line Station right across the street.

Took my daughter and granddaughters to see the Lion King. This was their first visit and my who knows how many visits. I loved their delighted reaction when we walked in, you never forget your first view of the interior of the Pantages!
Hollywood glory at its finest, over the top, golden fantasy of Regency deliciousness at its very best!

The show was amazing, the girls loved it. The staff were helpful and so nice with the hard parts of their job with the public. They have to look through purses and carry in’s and some people were not nice to them but they carried on to the next person with a welcome and a smile! Big kudos to them for their amazing attitudes.

Can’t wait until the next time!!

Saw Sal Vulcano last night (hilarious!) but the theater was a mess. They randomly turned on all the lights for the last 45 minutes of the show. Have you ever seen a comedian with all the lights on? Ridiculous. Despite requests, the lights stayed on. The last 15 minutes there was a guest who started yelling inappropriate things and spilling his red wine everywhere- the ushers did nothing.
