I just recently hosted a 30th birthday party here and everyone had a fantastic time! It was a perfect fit for our group of friends, with an impressive selection of whiskey, cigars, delicious snacks and a very fun atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and very helpful with planning our very large crew! Natalie put together special whiskey flights based on our likes and everyone was super impressed! They also have a full bar and wine menu in addition to their extensive whiskey list. Every Wednesday they have Whiskey deals with special curated flights.
I would highly recommend stopping in when you are in the area!

Circumstances landed me in L.A. for a bit and by L.A. I mean Long Beach...Not familiar with area I decided to wander in to this fine establishment called "The Stave." At first I was skeptical. It was the just the beginning of the evening and I was craving a glass of champagne. I hesitantly sat at the bar and right away was greeted by the most pleasant bartender. I ordered a bubbly and then another and then some whiskey and I have to say this place began buzzing at around 7:00 pm. I finally got hungry and the bartender recommended the Lasagna. It was wonderful! I had so much fun that I decided to ditch a conference halfway through the next day and return back to The Stave for a midday Moscow Mule. It was February, the sun was shining and I was able to sit at the patio and booze it up. I couldn't be happier. Should I find myself in Long Beach again, I would definitely frequent this establishment yet again. If you find yourself in Long Beach, so should you. I highly recommend it.

Great location, fun to look at the city bustle by. Great small bites, and servers with knowledge of wine and menu as well as surrounding area.

Strolling along the Promenade to visit the Congregation bar, I spotted the Stave. So not being in a hurry, went in and sat at the bar and ordered a shot from the well. This is always a way that I have found to judge the prices of a place without looking at the menu. The cost for a single shot from the well was $7.72, considering the neighborhood it seems ok, but not a place for drinkers. Their outside patio is a perfect place to nurse a vintage-inspired cocktail and people watch.
TIP: Good place to try new cocktails out.

On the corner of Broadway and The Promenade is "The Stave", where you will find the best collection of Scotches, Bourbons and Whiskeys in Long Beach, along with over 20 draft beers and supper crafted cocktails. The wood paneled walls and the vinyl booths give the whole place a vintage look, and feeling of comfort and class. The Bar is long and easy to sit at, the staff are really professional and very knowledgeable about all the drinks they serve. With its roll down patio doors there is easy access to the outside seating with its fire-pits and a canopy. We decided to sit at the bar, not being a whiskey drinker, we ordered an Edinger in a long tall glass and a couple of Anderson Boon amber's in a nice tulip glass. Both were very smooth and very enjoyable.
TIP: On a warm summer evening the patio is the perfect place to sit and people watch.

If you enjoy your Whiskey and Bourbon you will love this place. They have a large selection of drinks available (including beer). The staff were friendly and it didn’t take long to get served (it wasn’t too busy the night I visited).
I got a tasting tray of 3 bourbons for $15, which is a great way to sample a few drinks at once.

Sited in central Long Beach, very classical styling with great indoor seating and an outdoor patio, the latter with fire pits. On a corner, so good to watch people go by as you drink!
We just called in for a couple of drinks before doing some exploring and enjoyed our visit - very ably served by Anthony. Wish we could have stayed for longer, or gone on an evening, but unfortunately we were leaving town and could not try out some of the very lengthy selection of beers, cocktails and anything else alcoholic from practically anywhere on earth that you can imagine on offer!! It isn't a restaurant as such, but has a good selection of high-class snacks and will order substantial food to be brought in if required.

5 of us stopped here for a beer while touring downtown. We ended up staying for hours. Great beer and cocktail selection. The jerky was delicious! We also had some great banter with the bar staff.

The mixologists were VERY knowledgable of their product offerings. The Stave has a great international selection of cocktails, beers, whisky and scotch. We tried their whisky sour, which was made from scratch using egg whites, a hard-to-find Japanese scotch and a beer from Iceland. Wonderful bar atmosphere as well! Would highly recommend if visiting Long Beach for a fine crafted cocktail or neat drink.

Huge menu of high end spirits. Each drink is made with the utmost care and attention to detail. The decor is industrial classic (tuck & roll leather, copper ceiling, dark wood, etc.) with a roll up door that opens up to the street. The Stave is located on the corner of Broadway and The Promenade, great for people watching. The patio area boasts a seating island with a fire feature for chilly nights. I wish they had bigger food, but if you're in the mood to drink in style, this is the place.
