It's maintained as well as it could be. Homeless, punk kids, and/or mentally ill people sometimes break glass bottles on the paved trail. Before there were tons of bushes and greenery, but a good amount of homeless people started camping out in the bushes and trashed the park. So they decided to clear out a lot of the greenery (where people could hide). The water basin at low tide is super sad because you'd see tons of trash and even a bed box spring. Before winter, the homeless would congregate at the park tables (mainly the far gazebo at the end, overlooking the basin) and did drugs. Not as many now, but you can still see some still set up camps in the parking lot and in the bushes near the lot. Also, a good amount of people don't pick up their dog's poop, so watch where you run!

This community park recently underwent a significant transformation. The result is a beautiful recreational center with jogging/walking paths, strengthening equipment, half-court basketball, and covered picnic benches. Dogs are permitted with leashes and waste bags and covered trash receptacles are available throughout the walking trails. The walking trail quickly transforms to a more tranquil setting with a water basis (lake) with both mature trees and newly planted trees.
Free parking is available using the Hastings St entrance. Porta potties with a hand washing station are present.
