About
Established in 1993 the Dolphin House Museum, a 'Poem in Stone' is a three-story dolphin and ocean-inspired museum built using recycled materials by local Biminite author and historian Ashley Saunders. A popular cultural tourist attraction visited daily by international travelers also offers a novel gift shop for souvenir purchases. The Dolphin House Museum is Bimini's most unique and artistic structure and must be seen by anyone visiting this little island in the stream. Inspired by a swim with a pod of Bimini's wild dolphins. Mr. Saunders considers himself a dolphin inspired artist. "The dolphins touched my heart, and made me an artist." - Ashley Saunders

We loved our tour of the Dolphin House! The house is made from materials found on the beaches of Bimini and items, mainly licence plates, sent from past visitors.
This place really is a work of art and worth a visit.

The owner caretaker has decorated the building from what he salvaged from the beaches in Bimini, mostly tiles from hotels that have been blown away. Drop off any tiles you find on the beach to be used in the future.

No words can explain how amazing this place this. This home was made completely by hand with shells and things found in the ocean.

Hard to describe this place but very unique. Google it! This is a 20 year labor of love by Mr. Ashley Saunder's. If he is not going to give you a tour, don't go. The man is amazing and you have to hear his story.

I was intrigued walking around the house and amazed inside the house at the creativity and ingenuity

After reading some of the reviews, I was intrigued by this attraction. While I was walking around the outside, Ashley the builder of the house, talked to me into a tour. Within only a few sentences, I realized that my $10 admission was well spent. Has devoted 30 years to collecting and making art out of discarded and found objects. His creative mind and artistic talents are evident throughout the structure, and his love of island life, nature and humanity in general is evident throughout his creations.

We stopped and walked around, but it was $10 to see inside. The host was a bit unfriendly and we decided to not do the inside.

I’m so glad we stopped in to The Dolphin House! We were actually able to see Ashley himself working on his beautiful house he created with his bare hands! Dominic (his son) gave us a tour around the house explaining the history. When you’re in Bimini this building is a must see! Sustainability at its finest. Definitely a hidden gem and fun for the whole family.

How do you get to the Dolphin House from Resorts World resort? Thank you.

Greetings, The Dolphin House is near the other end of North Bimini in Alice Town on Queens Highway. There should be a free tram from Resorts World that will take you south into Alice Town. Once you pass the entrance to the Bimini Big Game Club and Marina, make a right at the second street up the hill and we are on the left hand side. Have a great day!
