Tortosa had an ancient Iberian civilization so the remains of this can be seen in the museum along with Roman artifacts and some later civilizations. The audio tour was helpful. I wish they had more on the Napoleonic wars and the Civil War. Evidently Tortosa...More

It is free on some Sundays which makes it worthwhile. Like many museums best to start at the end and work your way backwards unless you have an over-riding interest in bits of stone age pots and flint arrowheads. The audio-video display was very good.

Spend a little time in the Museum checking out the history of Tortosa and this stretch of the magnificent River Ebro.

The Museum(closed Mondays) is right beside the Tourist Office and with the Tortosa Card bought in the Tourist Office (7 euros) then entrance is included. Makes sense to start the sightseeing here and then move up to the cathedral and other places of interest.Map from...More

The museum gives a very good explanation about the history of Tortosa . The English Audi guide was very good and the audio visual presentation about the history of this city was excellent!
