I have to say the history I was taught in school in the 80's and the way it was taught was so different to what I learned going through the Museum. So I have to say Eye Opening for sure but I am very happy...More

We thoroughly enjoyed her visit to the museum very educational and takes you back to yester year. Highlight is being able to get on the Dias Ship and explore. Definitely worth a visit.

Our family loved their visit to the tree, aquarium & museum. R20 for adults & R5 for children. Hard to find better value for money. You can give further donations when you are in the exhibits if you wish. My older boys were dragging their...More

It was a nice museum to learn about Mosselbay and its history. I especially enjoyed the marine museum and the post office tree is just fascinating! It also has a nice view of the ocean. Would definitely recommend if you are of curious nature and/or...More

This attraction, in the heart of Mossel Bay, is honestly nothing to write home about. As an avid student of history, I found the Bartholomeu Dias Museum to be quite lacklustre, to say the least. Practically every artefact housed here is a replica, and visitors...More

I was surprised at all the museum had to offer, I've learnt so much on my visit there and got the most amazing photos - it was a real historical visit!

The museum gives a great view of the early history of Mossel Bay. The highlights of course are the Post Office tree and the replicated Caravel Ship. The fact that the ship was built around the ship instead of attempting to bring it in was...More

The famous Post Tree is just - a tree. Although I am interested in history. it left me cold. No excitement at all. The Dias Museum gave some interesting insights to how the sea route from Europe to India was found, but still....

This museum complex has so much potential especially as Bartholomeu Dias and his voyages forms an important part of the South African Senior Primary grades curriculum. Entrance fees are really cheap (R20 for adults) which does mean it is accessible to all. We all loved...More
