I do tours with guests. This was my first using The Old Bridge. It was a total success. My guests loved it and so did I. The crew of 3 doing the camp and food did a great job. Modumo who was our guide was a separate story. His knowledge was immense and his way of passing it on spotless. He was a gentleman with a load of knowledge. Thanks for spending time with us Modumo

We booked Old Bridge through a local safari agent who were more than terrific, responsive to our concerns, never more that a day between our questions and their response (Lelobu Safaris) and we were glad we did. Our time on Old Bridge's 8 day camping safari was outstanding. My husband and I are in our early 70's and loved being right in the middle of the bush, The cots were comfortable, the bucket showers did the job, the food, to our surprise was outstanding, and we could hear nearby wildlife in a setting that was 'right there' and also safe. This was our 4th safari. We have been to Kenya twice, once with the Philadelphia Zoo staying in mid range lodges, and once at Kicheche Bush Camp, a high-end tented eco lodge in a private reserve adjacent to the Masai Mara which was wonderful but super expensive. In South Africa we stayed at Thornybush and other similar lodges. And each was a wonderful experience in different ways. I'm giving all this information so you know, when I say I loved the basic camping, it comes from having extensive experience with other types of trips. . Master, our Old Bridge guide was passionate about wildlife, incredibly knowledgeable and engaged and engaging. And the staff that made our food and took our tents up and down were great too. I mentioned Lelobu who booked us. I wish they had done our entire trip (I booked everything on my own after extensive research, and still I made some mistakes in the B&B, I booked in Maun, Staymorr Boutique Hotel, awful. (Booking.com gives it a fantastic review, hard to imagine why). In any case, even though AJ from Lelobu hadn't booked it, he drove to Staymorr, booked us and took us to the very adequate and reasonably priced Maun Lodge and charged us nothing for his time. They also book in Victoria Falls, and, again, I wish I had used them for this booking as well. It's always good to have someone at your back, and in this case, I can't recommend them highly enough.

By the sounds of it we made the mistake of doing the day trip as the other longer ones sound great! We booked a “Mokoro” day trip for P750. We took a 2 hour drive down to the river in which we saw some game which was awesome! Met our guides and then did a 20 minute Mokoro trip down river before stopping to be given the choice of lunch now or later (It was about 11am so we all voted for later) we then started walking... saw 4 elephants and then nothing. An hour and a half later (in 35 degree heat and saw no animals because it was so hot) we asked when lunch would be. We were told we were 10 mins from the village and then we would walk back to the boats where we would eat lunch and then return. Obviously we weren’t too happy about this as we booked a Mokoro trip and to end up spending less than an hour in the boat was disappointing! The guide could see the whole groups disappointment and exhaustion so we turned back round and walked back to the boats. I think we took a short cut as this only took us just over half an hour. We had lunch and got back on the boats to go 20 mins down stream and then back to the station arriving half an hour early so our transport back was not there. Left at 08:00, returned at 16:30. Total 1 hour 10 minutes in the boat (where we saw the most wildlife of the day and it was AMAZING!) Our guide also sulked for the rest of the time and didn’t talk to us, walking at the back of the group. Overall a very strange and disappointing experience of a “Mokoro day trip” and wouldn’t recommend, but don’t let that put you off the longer ones!

This is a MUST DO! My boyfriend and I used to work as game rangers so have spent a lot of time in the bush and we still highly recommend this trip. We had Steven as our guide and he was great. For a similar 2 night mokoro camping trip, we were quoted P18000 by a travel agent. We found this and booked 1 night self catering for P1000 per person. For that you get 2 bush walks in big 5 area, 2 mokoro trips, camping in the park and a private guide! You meet at Old Bridge Backpackers at 07:45 and are dropped back off there at 17:00 the following day. The backpackers seemed disorganised. We hired some gear from them which was in good condition. We were worried about how much we could fit in the 1 mokoro which would also carry both of us and our guide and his stuff so we packed (too) light. We hired a ground tent and 2 mattresses, 1 backpack each (1 for clothes, 1 for food, cooking utensils shared between them), a gas cooker, 2 pillows, 2 sleeping bags and 6 litres of water. Next time we would take more water, a table and a solar shower. We sat on a horizontal tree trunk. They provide wood and a spade (for the toilet). The drive to the reserve is 1,5 hours in an open game viewer so bring a jersey. TIPS: The info provided says it is a nice gesture to share meals with your guide - DEFINITELY bring your guide food, drinks, crockery and cutlery. You will want to share with him and it's awkward if you haven't got enough. Our guide was great but didn't bring any of those items. He drank the river water. If you book self-catering, you get a private guide so you don't share your items with other campers. If you book catered, they group you with other guests staying the same number of nights as you. Bring your tip for the guide with you as he doesn't come with back to Old Bridge. We used the river water for cooking and didn't get the runs :) Made sure it boiled first though. Wear neutral colours (khaki, brown, cream, grey). It helps to prevent elephants spotting you when in the mokoro. Avoid bright colours. We had elephants come through camp and at night we heard hyaena and lion. On our afternoon and morning bush walks we saw elephant, hippo, general game and evidence of porcupine, aardvark, springhare and honey badger

This was my 3rd African safari and by far the best, most memorable, incredible experience. All I can say is that Old Bridge Safaris/Lelobu Safari's are the most efficient, helpful, friendly safari option you can go with. We chose the en suite 8 day Camping safari through Botswana and had sighting of lions with cubs, leopards, jackals, servals, african wild cat, plus lots of all the usual and some incredible birds. Master our guide and the whole team including Olly and System and Zokoro were fantastic and took great care of us. Masters passion and knowledge was incredible - and he was a pleasure to spend time with, entertain etc. Look no further guys. Safari of a lifetime is right here ( I've done grizzly bear in British Columbia, Jaguars in the Pantanal, Safaris' in Kenya/Tanz/Kruger). This Botswana trip was the best animal safari. Thanks again guys.
