This used to be a monastery, and many priests were trained in the Canary Islands for the colonization of the New World. Surprising that a town of this size has such a large city hall!

La Orotava is a great place to visit for history, culture and ambience. Square is very pleasant and it is worth walking up the steps to enter the town hall.

Climb up the large staircase and visit the noble hall for a great view across the city. In June the square becomes a huge sand picture to celebrate the festival of Corpus Christi.
