Our first time doing this walk after years coming to Nerja and I'm now having regret of not knowing before how magical this is. You might come to Nerja for sun, sea, relaxation, good food and drink and you'll get all that literally on the...More

A fantastic way to spend your time. Just make sure you have very comfortable shoes with decent grips that you're happy to get wet and possibly ruined. You are literally walking up the river (it's not deep) but as you are walking over rocks, it...More

We have done the walk now 3 times, it is our favourite thing to do when we visit Nerja. Walking through the water is fun, and the walk is not too difficult except for a few points where you have to carefully step up rocks....More

Fantastic weather, wading through the clear water for a couple of hours, shaded by impressive high sided gorge walls and trees. Can’t recommend this place enough - if you’re in the Nerja area, get out there. Shoes with a bit of grip on them are...More

This is probably one of my favorite places ever. Reminiscent of canyons seen in movies the 2+ hours trek is worth every step. Be careful - reserve whole day for this activity, and take shoes with bare soles. You will feel like in a jungle!

This walk would be a highlight on most people's holidays. Go prepared with runners for comfy walking and bring a picnic. Wear swim gear and enjoy a dip in the pools you will come across. We left our hotel (Villa Flamenca) at 9.30am and reached...More

Went out early at 8am to walk along the trail. Beautiful environments and peaceful Forrest sounds. You’ll reach the pools after about 1,5 hour walk. And it’s so worth it!

So impressed with this as a different kind of walks to what we have done in the Alapujarras; a great river walk. As a lot of reviews have said, starts off wide and gentle landscape, and after time becomes narrower and narrower, so that you...More

The Rio Higueron is a dry alternative but be aware that if you carry on through the gorge there is a section of walkway along the side of the gorge by the large rock fall that is quite narrow and there is some scrambling the... More
