This is a great place, but before I get to that, the thing that had me scratching my head was how to get there. Internet sites have all these vague references, like "it's just past the old cement plant." That wasn't very helpful to me...More

My husband and I set out around noon on the Rio chillar. We walked 2.5 hours from nerja to the reservoir by fragilliana. After that another 30 min to a picnic area. No pool to swim or waterfall. We walked a little farther and ran...More

Really enjoyed this. We gave ourselves an hour walk from car park to the point when we would turn round. We kept going for longer as it was really quite enjoyable, clambering over the rocks further up the gorge . On the way back down...More

This is a wonderful walk; if you have the right shoes and the weather is nice! The river water is quite cold, so go on a nice hot day so it'll cool you down. Also wear appropriate shoes cause the river rocks can be quite...More

The round can be uneven underfoot but otherwise it's not a difficult hike. Prepare for wet feet though. Wearing an old pair of runners is best and the full hike to the waterfall and back is approx 6 hours so lunch and water is recommended....More

This was a lovely walk through the gorge to the waterfall at the end, but be prepared for a long day. The water is lovely and cold and fortunately the stones are not slippery as it becomes more of a challenge the further up you...More

An easy walk up a pebble river bed passing through beautiful gorges and waterfalls. Managed to carry my two year old but wet shoes are essential.

Really fun going along in the water but we wore aqua shoes and the soles weren’t thick enough to handle walking on stones the whole time. Our feet were sore after a while and we had to turn around after maybe 2 hours walking. Get...More

It was a great experience do walk through the river. We did like 6h of walking and because of the time we went back at the part with the “waterfall”. Please keep the nature as beautiful as it is and don’t throw your rubbish somewhere!...More

Yes. I would probably advise against it if it's a puppy or very small dog though, unless you're willing to carry through the deeper parts. Dogs we passed on our walk seemed to enjoy it though!

I agree. Go early. Less people. But it really is protected a lot of the way and you are walking in ankle high and lovely water most of the time.
