A short drive off of the Ring Road, Uppspuni Mini Mill is a small upstairs shop in a working mill on a farm. We met and chatted with Hulda, who owns the sheep whose wool you'll be browsing through. She was very helpful as I purchased some wool for a yet-to-be-determined lopapeysa pattern. Visitors can purchase knit sweaters there or put in an order for a sweater that can be knit for you if you find a pattern you like but there isn't one available in your size. As a knitter, I appreciated the amount of yarn on offer, as I'd encountered several knitting shops along the Ring Road A few of the fiber businesses have come together for a "Woolen Circle" tour, advertising themselves in a cute fashion for those interested in yarn or crafts, and this is a great stop. We peeked into the mill a bit, but didn't take time for a tour. If you're a crafter and looking for yarn (though note, you won't find the unspun plates of plotulopi here, just great spun wool), I'd recommend taking the time to do some shopping at this family farm/mill.

Such a lovely family business. A tour with Hulda to learn about Icelandic wool and her business is absolutely worth it! She is endearing and funny and very knowledgeable.
The yarn is lovely and we bought some for my niece to make us hats. I know the name of the sheep part of my hat will be made from and I met the woman who made the yarn. How perfectly personal is that!
