Lots of food & shopping options!
This is a charming spot with lots of unique food and shopping options. We had the 2022 Lonely Planet guide book on our trip around the ring road and it did not include this, so definitely recommend checking it out. Great place to stop if you have kids!

Great place to spend an afternoon
Didn't plan to come here, but so glad we did. We visited because we were intrigued by Skyrland on the way to our next hotel, and ended up spending a whole afternoon wandering around here. Lovely shops that aren't just full of tourist souvenirs. Lots of great places to eat.

    Cute new built area
Selfoss is a small town in southern Iceland with nothing to do, but serving as a lodging base for the island tour. To enrich social life and tourist potential, town government started a program of rebuilding the town center. It's located just after the bridge when you enter Selfoss, by the old dairy factory (now a restaurant). You can see the map of what's planned to do - half of the project is done, while the rest should be finished in two years. Houses and shops look cute, however theme park like. Anyway it was nice to walk around as you have nothing else to do after dinner.

Cute little downtown sector and rest stop while visiting the sites. Grocery stores and restaurants are available throughout this area of Selfoss and a welcomed stop on way to visit iceland landmarks. Worth a stop.

This is a nicely done and walkable area consisting of old and new buildings housing shops and restaurants. The main building is the old dairy which has a food court with a variety of restaurants. Nice for some shopping and dining.

In the centre of Selfoss there were a number of traditional buildings that were either in a bad state of repair or previously fire damaged so a project was created to revive the area. The new centre opened in 2021 with 35 traditional buildings which were either renovated or newly constructed. We visited in March 2022 and we liked the feel of the place and attention to detail giving the area a truly historic feel.
