Just Beautiful
Oct 2021
This was the highlight of my trip. I got to there at 715am Sunday morning and had no issue parking. Very friendly people along the way as well.

You do cross water several times so I would recommend hiking shoes and trekking poles to assist. This is hard to admit...but I'm a little older and those poles came in very handy lol.

This was most likely the last weekend for the beautiful foliage and I'm glad I scheduled this trip when I did.

Different area to explore
Oct 2021
One of our favorite in the area. Different then an open desert hike. This more in a tree shaded area in a canyon that follows and crosses a creek, several times. Easy, maybe a bit moderate. Leaves changing color this time of year. Hike follows a creek. Easy to cross now, could see after rain or in spring you may want to check on water level first. Parking in short supply. $11 to hike this. Drive from Sedona is real pretty and worth that alone. Maybe 15 minutes out of the downtown touristy area. If this is busy, suppose you could check out Slide Rock State park (or both). This in a different area then Bell Rock or Boynton Trail - so brings some diversity to what you are experiencing while hiking. In and out trail vs. a loop. About 6-7 miles, but you could turn around when you want.

Incredibly cool hike!
Sep 2021
Not tough at all, but scenic!! The walls tower above you on both sides, the trail is heavily traveled, and easy to walk on. You'll cross the creek multiple times, but there are stones set.. probably won't get wet feet unless you slip. :-) If you only do one hike while in Sedona....THIS IS IT!!! Seriously.

Get your feet wet - Cool off in Oak Creek - Push past the end of the trail
Aug 2021
This is a wonderful fairly easy yet Long Hike along the Oak Creek. You'll cross the creek Many time. The real jewel is past the end of this 'official trail'. Hike past the sign and explore the beautiful formations carved into the rock. Expect to get Wet. You'll have to hike in the water once you leave the main trail. Beautiful and peaceful. As we hiked a significant thunderstorm came though announcing itself with huge claps of thunder and lightning strikes. We never say the lightning, but the thunder was Over whelming.. Pictures cannot do this hike justice. The only wildlife we saw were a couple of crows enjoying the black berries along the creek bank. Round Trip for us was around 7 miles. We were beat.

Beautiful hike— good for kids/ families
Aug 2021 • Family
Gorgeous trail, much of it through a crystal-clear creek. Much of the hike was shaded making it pleasant for family despite heat and distance over 6 mi round trip). FYI— Don’t need to go the whole way to enjoy.

Easy hike shaded by trees but still beautiful scenery
Jul 2021
For a hot July day, this hike was one of my favorites! Followed an easy trail through the canyon for almost 4 miles with dry shoes, then had to turn or walk the creek. About 13 creek crossings, beautiful cliff views through the trees. I did arrive at 6:30 as some reviews said the lot would be open - it wasn't. There are 3 parking spots outside the entry gate and the 3rd car pulled in right before me. I did a quick vortex instead and came back right after 8 when it opened and the lot was filling quickly. Glad I did, this was one of my favorites!

Fun hike but beware of a bear 🐻
Jul 2021 • Couples
This was a great hike and we started at 7:15am. I’m not much of a hiker and I was able to finish but it took me 4 hours total. Most of it was easy but there were a few challenging spots. The creek crossing were fun but be careful of wobbly rocks. We did see a bear at the very beginning near the parking lot. We stopped and took a lot of pictures. I couldn’t photograph the bear because I was too shocked to unlock my phone. I wasn’t expecting that because I did not see anything about bears in the reviews.

Awesome!
Jul 2021
I have a lot of back pain and was concerned about whether I would be able to enjoy hiking with my family while visiting Sedona. I almost even stayed home the morning they were going on this hike because I was afraid of ruining their day. I am SO glad I decided to go with them! It's a very easy hike and I was fine. Most of it is in the shade and the views are spectacular. We started the hike at 8 am and finished at noon. It was one of the best days of our stay. If we return to Sedona, we will definitely be doing this one again!
