Very pleasant trail nice and easy to the vista and vortex
Nov 2021
We were staying at The Enchantment Resort, so parking was not an issue. The resort had its own gate out to the trail. We found the trail to be pretty shady in the morning. At the end there is a climb up to the "vortex" site. Some people were doing yoga at the very top/tip.

Some interesting rock formation, including the one that looked like a camel! Overall we really enjoyed the relaxing hike; the trail has some ups and downs, but quite easy. Wear comfortable hiking boots with good gripping soles. Look out for javelinas and deer, which we've seen while staying at The Enchantment Resort.

Great hike

Such a picturesque and challenging hike. Stick it out until the end for a spectacular view. And don't forget to bring water.

Had to find out this subway cave and after parking outside the full lot I expected to be looking at a crowded wait... after getting up the escalator which was easy for me but intimidating for some I had the place to myself ... after taking pics of an empty cave and a couple failed selfies I walked the ledge over to the ruins side where my wife went up... luckily a group came along so I walked the ledge back and got someone to take a picture for me... awesome views and adrenaline rush... also the Vista was full of great areas to explore... must do hike in Sedona

worthwhile hike
Oct 2021
Again, parking is in short supply, street parking available down the road. 2 trails back in here. You can follow Boynton along the cliffs into the canyon to a vista - a moderate scenic, tranquil hike. Part way into this canyon hike and where most people seem to go is to the caves, but like most Sedona trails that we experienced the signage and trail markings are disappointing. We missed the turnoff the first time (no signage), but found it on way back (thanks to alltrails) and hearing people off in that direction. The trail up to the caves is normal until near the end. Then straight up, similar to Devils Bridge (this may be a tad worse as not all stairs). Maybe if we do both 9 miles. Scenic view. Similar views (but not the exact same) to Devils Bridge which is about a 10 minute drive away.

Beautiful hike
Sep 2021
Moderate length and difficulty in a slot canyon. Only downside is the first 2/3 mile is adjacent to Enchantment resort with loud construction currently. The vista at the end is a supposed vortex. Honestly I did not feel any additional spiritual presence. When I am on a beautiful hike I am always happy, at peace and usually spiritually fulfilled. Didn’t really notice any difference. Regardless this is a great hike

Awesome trail and the subway cave is stunning. I included a pic of the place where you turn to continue up to the cave, otherwise you'll be walking forever.

Well worth the time and effort
Jun 2021
We did not take the entire Boynton Canyon Trail, but went to the Vista Point. It was a great trail to a fantastic vista point. It is relatively short trail in and out with some easy climbs. The trail is marked by rocks stacked in a wire cage. There were times you couldn't find which was the trail, but there they were, stacked rocks in a wire cage beckoning you on. There is not much parking in the lot or on the road. The first day we attempted to hike the trail we couldn't get parking. The next day we arrived before 7 and there were a few spaces still available. It was well worth the time and effort.

Not so scenic
Jun 2021
We found this trail to be a bust...not very scenic and a hike through the woods. The finale was very dissapointing, and then we had to walk the same trail back. The only bonus was that we found the side trail to the "subway" on the way back. It is a slot in the rocks with a hike up to a cave. Very cool and strenuous uphill climb. About half a mile off the main trail, and about 3/4 of the way in. We suggest bypassing the trek to the end of the Boynton trail and turning right to the subway, if you can find it. It is not marked

Best hike of my life

Visit the Kachina Woman, known as one of several vortexes in Sedona. If you're lucky, you will meet Robert, a flute playing lover of life.

It's a great hike, but long!
May 2021
Honestly, all the trails in Sedona are fantastic! If you are looking for a long easy hike with shade and forest, this would be the hike for you.

My friend and I specifically chose to hike on a weekday (Thursday to be exact) to avoid the crowds. It so happened the few days we were in Sedona it was well into the 90's in temperature. We got to the trailhead, which to keep in mind you pay a parking fee. The lot was full but we managed to find spots to park around the corner. Trail signage was very clear, lots of shade so the heat was not bad, though bring water and a snack, it is about 7-8 miles round trip. Beautiful views.

It's a great hike!
