Coconino National Forest Must
Sep 2021
The Coconino National Forest area is beautiful. We enjoyed the drive in and out. The Docent at the V Bar V Petroglyph site was wonderful. Knowledgeable, passionate, but also a people person. They wanted the site to matter to us, and in turn, know that we mattered to the site. To the Forest Service. They succeeded. Thanks so much!

Loved it!

The docent at the Petroglypgh site was very informative. It was a flat easy 1/2 Millie hike. After our visit we headed to PJ's Village Pub in Oak Creek Canyon for lunch. I would recommend going there.

Very cool!

We got there as site opened. Had benefit of docent in our group that walked out to site with us (very easy flat, walk). There was as also a docent (guide) at the site who gave us a 20 minute or so overview of petroglyphs. So worth doing. We spent about an hour at site and gift shop. Well worth your time.

A Petroglyph Lovers Must See in AZ!
Jun 2019 • Solo
It was a beautiful Saturday in early June when i visited this site. Easy to get to off I-17 & the signage on the road leads you to the parking area. Good signage panels tell you the history of the area. It's a short walk to the visitor cabin where you check in. Then it's an easy walk near the stream to the petroglyphs. So many all in one place & the ranger gives a very good talk & can recommend more places for your AZ visit. This stop only takes about 30 to 60 min., but is well worth the time.

Amazing Ranger Guide
Oct 2019
This place has an amazing collection of native american petroglyphs. We weren't originally sure that this place would be worth visiting, but we were so glad that we stopped. The ranger on site (who was part native American himself) provided a lot of exceptional information regarding the history and interpretation of the petroglyphs.

Good interesting stop traveling between Sedona and Phoenix
Sep 2019
The petroglyphs calender is very interesting. It is amazing they they would figure this out nearly a thousand years ago. There was a park service person there to explain the site. The petroglyphs you viewed were only about 40 feet of rock face. The rest were off limits.

Interesting place
Sep 2019
First off, kudos to the volunteers at the site who give simple tours to visitors. The site is not as big as I imagined. It’s really just a face of wall but still really interesting nonetheless.

Learn about area Culture
Sep 2019
This spot is definitely worth taking in! A short drive off Hwy 17 and you're in a whole different cultural world! Check in at the staion, use the restroom, and walk 1/2 mile to the site on a treed trail. We were very impressed with the guides knowledge about the Petroglyphs. The walls have over 1000 drawings with a very interesting calendar and a women's wall.
