Beautiful scenery on the way to the top

It's weather dependent! But it is necessary to experience different views from clear sky to blanket covering the table mountain! spectacular views while the cable car rotate as it ascend/descend

No soap but otherwise amazing
Oct 2021 • Couples
First the bad: NO soap in the restrooms… just hand sanitizer! Not good anytime but especially in covid times it’s unsanitary.

Ok now the good stuff: the cable car ride was amazing! There was no line whatever to go up or down. The car floor spins so everyone gets a great view. At the top there’s plenty of lookouts and view points. Lots of beautiful flowers too.

Overall we enjoyed our time here!

Terrible - do not recommend!
Oct 2021 • Solo
Staff are not friendly - staff on site are more concerned with chatting between themselves rather than providing updates to customers on site.

Infrastructure is in dire need of maintenance work.

Only saving grace is the amazing view.

Do not bother going unless you are absolutely sure the cableway will go up and are willing to try and find your own way through the chaos.

Great Trip If You Time It Right
Oct 2021
We had a few days in Cape Town. For the first couple of days, the mountain was blanketed by clouds. We woke up on the third day to clouds as well. After a trip to Kirstenbosch Gardens, we returned to the V&A waterfront and the clouds had cleared. We ubered to the cable car station and took the gondola up. Beware, the floor of the gondola rotates so everyone gets to see all the views. It was unnerving until we realized what was going on. It was definitely cooler at the top but the views over Cape Town were spectacular. We did see stupid people climbing out on the edge of some of the cliffs to get that "picture". We also saw the rescue team in action and a helicopter taking someone to a hospital. Enjoy the view but don't be stupid. And by your tickets online on the way to the gondola. You don't want to buy them in advance unless you know the clouds won't be around. But by buying the ticket online on the way, you avoid one line that may take some time.

Unforgettable experience!

We rode the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway to Table Mountain and the views were stunning. We visited during Covid and got right in without a wait! Traveling during Covid is awesome! The Cableway staff are knowledgeable and helpful.

Can't miss if you're visiting Cape Town for the first time
Sep 2021
Views absolutely breathtaking; the trams are comfortable and were recently renovated. Suggest buying the tickets online before the visit in order to minimize the long times standing in endless lines, as this is always a popular destination.

Best views of the sea and city
Aug 2021
We lucked out and visited table mountain on a beautiful August day. The views are spectacular - not to be missed. The gondola was safe with COVID practices being enforced but not intrusive.

Old faithful
Aug 2021 • Friends
I have been using the cableway since 1967, whenn it was that little half-open car standing outside and scaring the kids. No matter how many people might be in the queue the new cars are spacious and you seldom have to wait long. This time we just walked right in and were on top real quickly. It was interesting to see how close the car comes to the very difficult Arrow Traverse hiking route and could not believe that we once took about 60 students through there.
