This is the real deal... ultra thick walls, small windows letting in little natural light, in fact, apart from the laying on of electricity, it remains more or less as it was during the last owners' lifetime (Maria Koopmans Dr wet and her sister). The...More

The house sits on Strand Street and stands out as it is original. When it was built, it was “on the beach” and now it is on one of the CBD’s busiest streets well back from the sea front and flanked by modernity. The interiors...More

Don’t miss this atmospheric home. Not getting nearly enough visitors to these great old Dutch rooms. The antique furniture is amazing, and the story boards tell of a very busy household.

We wanted to see some of the colonial history and how the early settlers lived. This house is very beautiful and still has the feel of what it must have been like. Pottery, furniture and items if interest. Well worth the visit. Highly recommend

The rooms all open up out of a central room. Beautiful old furniture & crockery & carpets, etc. At the back there is a coach in a coachhouse, with a very steep staircase to a room at the top. It has a nice view from...More
