The border post was closed due to inclement weather but the views were breath taking and the staff on duty were very friendly and helpful. Worth the trip up...will be back!!

We have been up the pass numerous time and its well worth the visit. I never tire of the amazing soup and a glass of Gluwein. I always make a point of taking my international visitors up there, never seems to get old as a...More

Prepare for a really long drive, road conditions can become treacherous especially if its been raining or snowing and visibility is a few meters tops. 4x4 is highly recommended although some foolhardly souls chance it and get lucky most of the time. If you have...More

The drive there is long on relatively bad roads. Four wheel drive, however is only needed for the last 500m of the trip. There are the border posts to go through, these are an irritation. The drive up is magnificent and the scenery at the...More

Traveled up Sani Pass in our own 4x4 and what an adventure it was! The road is not great but its to be expected due to the location. Road works from the Himeville road side are in full swing and I'm certain once completed will...More

Although probably something that the normal 4x4 enthusiast will foam at the mouth at, my last trip up the pass was really not enjoyable. The road was really bad, most of the topsoil washed away and roadworks a real pain the butt..!! Luckily my old...More

The drive up to the top of Sani Pass from South Africa is along a gravel road on "No Mans Land" between South Africa and Lesotho. Not sure who controls this 8 Kilometer stretch, but it was a big worry for anybody. There is a...More

Definitely need a 4x4 vehicle with high clearance to travel this pass. Work is being done to renovate the road, but is far from completion. The view along the way is wonderful. Worth a visit.

Took the 4 by 4 tour with Sani Pass Tours over the SA border and into Lesotho. The path can not be traversed by normal vehicle ... it is bendy and rocky but what else is expected on a mountain 😁. We paid R850 for...More

I'm not sure but I don't see why not. You can go up on bicycle and on bike so why not quads? I think you'll be able to

Sorry for the slow reply. I think you will. All you need is reasonable ground clearance and 4x4 traction. You will be fine.
