Amazing morning hike on this trail. I was there during the President's Day holiday that I got to see a lot of families with children and families with dogs. I highly recommend this place but check the weather before going.

Blue Wash is a great trail located in Tonto National Forest. It’s unique in that the trail winds through a canyon with tall rock walls and leads to a small waterfall. We were there in early February and were lucky to see water in the creek, and the waterfall flowing. Parking is along Cave Creek Road, about two miles north of Bartlett Dam Road. No water or restrooms at the trailhead. It’s an out-and-back trail and is about 3 miles total. We were here for about two hours.

No signage on this trail. From the parking area, proceed down the trail until you reach the bottom and head left. You’ll see the remains of an old vehicle and a sign warning about bees. Read the sign - we saw a lot of bees swarming by a hole between some rocks a few minutes past the sign. Follow the wash, and you will come upon a huge rock that resembles a pyramid. Proceed until you see an American flag up on the hill, then turn left and follow this wash until you reach the falls. There was water in the creek, but we didn’t get wet feet since there are many rocks to walk across.
