What a great place to stop for some refreshment after a day of exploring Ketchikan! There is an outdoor area and also an indoor area which we chose enjoying the outdoor area with it being such a beautiful day. We spent a couple of hours in the Arctic Bar before boarding the cruise liner. There were 6 of us and we sat outside on one of the tall tables and enjoyed quite a few pitchers of local beer. There was a 4 piece girl band on inside which added to our enjoyment. The bar is full of character and it was a pleasure and a great experience to visit this unique bar. Well worth a visit before getting back to the ship…

Ketchikan is an essential part of any Alaskan cruise. The town is small and easily walkable. We've been 5 times. We always reserve time for a cold beer at the Arctic Bar, where we relax and watch the comings and goings of the cruisers.

I was at this bar in 1985 and it was a s....hole in a bad neighborhood at the time. When we had a stop on our cruise in Ketchikan I had to find this place.....and what do you know it is next to the cruise ship facilities...the whole area redeveloped and is in a nice area now. Food was great. the Bloody Mary's were some of the best I have ever had. The owner is very outgoing and is a character, she shared the Bloody Mary recipe with us....and it has pickle juice in it....we make at home for friends..lots of fun and we left Ketchikan with a smile on our face..…
