Experience Alaska in the twilight of winter on a tour that squeezes in all of the highlights surrounding Anchorage. Visiting Alaska in the winter is a magical opportunity ideal for travelers who want to avoid the summer crowds. However, winter conditions and limited daylight can make it tough to sightsee. Luckily, with this tour, you don’t have to worry about logistics or conditions and can focus on enjoying the sights.

There are so many different and great hikes, trails, day-use areas, rivers, lakes, and such in Chugach State Park. There is something for everyone. Flattop Mountain is a fantastic hike. Thunderbird Falls is an easy hike in a different part of the park. There are nearly unlimited possibilities.

Were We hiked in Chugach state park while staying at the Alyeska hotel in Girdwood. It was a fun hike with beautiful scenery. The trail was extremely well maintained and there was information posted along the way.

We stayed at Williwaw and Cooper Creek South Campgrounds. Both great campgrounds. We kayaked at Eklutna lake and visited the Eagle River Nature Center. Lots to see and do!

The Bird Point Park is part of Chugach State Park. It is a very wonderful rest area to take a break from Seward Highway. There is a nice walkway facing the Turnagain Arm. No matter which way you turn the scenery of this area is just breathtaking. Posters along the walkway help visitors to understand the area. That was a refreshing stop for us in last August sunny day. Happy Travelling!

We travelled here on our way to the airport in Anchorage after our cruise. The views are spectacular. We were given about 20 minutes to walk around when the driver stopped. We did not stay in this park just long enough to take a couple of dozen photos--maybe more, because every time you moved you saw something more! It truly is a wonderful visit!
