Don't go to this beach, you will never want to leave! It's perfect for swimming, sun bathing and taking long walks on the packed sand during low tide. If you are an experienced surfer or looking for drugs and partying, go somewhere else. This is...More

This beach does not compare to the natural beauty of nearby Playa Carillo, but is less populated. There are no amenities like seats and tables, and no parking nearby our hotel but it has a great sunset. Wild horses grazed by us at one point.

We stayed at a hotel on Samara beach for 6 nights, and we couldn't have asked for a better beach. It's quiet, with calm surf - the beach itself it's sloping so it makes it easy to get in and out of the water.

This is the perfect beach for a young family --- gentle, clean blue waters and a relaxed environment. Mediocre choice of hotels with most being on the Spartan side. Many excellent restaurants beachside and a lock or two off the beach. Restaurants are pricey bh...More

A very nice beach which is clean and not to crowded with tourists since Samara is a smaller town. We also took a perfect surf lesson at C&C surf school. Propz to Alfonso and his crew that showed us how to ride the beginner waves.

You expect to pay a higher price for things at the beach, it's a given. But reflect it in an honest, posted price. I have lived in Costa Rica 6 years, and long ago, I stopped being a tourist ripe for rip offs. While here...More

Lovely crescent of golden sand and sunsets. Can watch the fishermen brining in their catch. Some boat rips but more from the main town

Wow, what a beach. Backed by palm trees, gentle surf. Lots of families, lots of kids, lots of dogs! Perfect for a great day at the beach.

It isn't really a party town. More family oriented with primarily restaurants, not pubs so much.

We used Samara Adventure Co for a dolphin/snorkelling tour. It was excellent. The Samara Info Center has many more activities to do in and around Samara. Enjoy!

We just got back 2 weeks ago. Didn't see any dog poop. The beach is amazingly clean.
