We took the trail to the lava fields with an infant and a toddler. Took a jogging stroller and were able to make it all the way to the stairs. Had to lift it above some boulders but otherwise the trail is easy and smooth. Lovely view of the volcano on a clear day with the lake behind you. We did the shorter hike, which took about 1.5 hours. It was a great trail, rocky and steep in some sections but doable for all ages. Great trail through the forest, across the lava fields and then back. Very safe, spectacular views. Most of the hike is under the cover of the forest, but when not in the shade, you have the incredible views of the volcano. Great visitors station too!
