    Tranquilo experience
When we arrived it was during the day and overcast so it was really wonderful. It wasn’t overpacked so it was a nice and intimate experience. I really enjoyed all the different thermal pools and temperatures… so relaxing. I’m a huge hot spring connoisseur and I loved it! It included a buffet lunch and it was just a simple and basic lunch options which also was nice. Ooooh and the water slides totally ignited my inner child! Highly recommend :-) All around I enjoyed my experience here and felt it was totally worth it!

    Baldi Hot Springs
Spent most of the day here, I had been here years ago, great memories. I am I knowledgeable about other hot springs in the area, but this is First Class. Really nice all the way around, my tour included a lunch that was a huge buffet! I had to wait a bit before I went back to soaking, I came out a wrinkled prune after about 6 hours of soaking, loved it!

Items taken when rooms was cleaned
We had an amazing time at Baldi aside from some items being taken when rooms were cleaned. The hot springs are so beautiful. It can get busy but there are so many pools that it's easy to get away from crowds. The spa is wonderful, I had one of the best massages. We had a group of us staying and one person in our group had a bag of her face creams and other belongings taken when her room was cleaned. Which is a huge bummer as this was our first stop in Costa Rica of a 2 week long trip. I would recommend this place, just don't have them clean your room.

    Nice hot springs
We visited this Hot Springs as part of our tour group. We enjoyed all the numerous pools that were offered. We were advised by our tour leader, to avoid going down the slides, due to some injuries that had occurred recently. You can rent towels for $10 but you need to save your receipt and return it for a full refund. Great place to relax and unwind and soak your aches away.

Beautiful but probably would have been better on a cloudy day
Beautiful property. We went on a hot day, so it was nice to have a mix of hot, warm, and cool pools. It was not a busy day, but it was sometimes difficult to find a place to put our towels near the cooler pools while we soaked. There were plenty of chairs open at the very hot pools, though. I wish the children's pool area had more chairs in the shade for parents. We would have let our kids play longer at the play area but we were melting in the sun. Not sure I would go back again with children. For the price, the hot springs are probably best for teens and adults (water slides, bars, etc.). It was neat to see the lizards and iguanas roaming the property while we were swimming/soaking.

A Serene Getaway at the Hot Springs
The place is a hidden gem, tucked away in nature. Stepped into the warm waters, and instantly, all the stress melted. Surrounded by trees and the gentle steam, it's like a natural spa. Can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed. Staff were friendly, place was clean – what more can you ask for? If you need a breather, this is it.

    Nice experience
We went as a family of 4 to the hot springs (2 adults, and 2 kids - 3yrs old and 5 yrs old). We had a nice overall experience, and the kids had a BLAST. We tried every pool (all differing temperatures). We went on an overcast/slightly rainy day, which was nice cause it was really quite quiet. We also had gotten a day pass w/ lunch (buffet style lunch + dessert included). The food was pretty good, especially the pork in the gravy-style sauce. The only minor downside was that we didn't have anywhere to leave our stuff by most of the pools. Especially with a bit of drizzle, we wanted to have our stuff kept somewhere they could stay dry. They DO have lockers but we wanted to have some of our stuff closer by and also didn't want to pay the locker fee (haha..).

    Best time at Baldi!
This place was a highlight of our trip! I read how it can be busy and lots of kids running around, but for us, we barely saw anyone else! We went at the end of October (low season) and arrived around 4pm just as it was getting dark. The lighting at night really makes this place magical. We had a few drinks at the bar and the service was great. Since we were one of the only people there, we were given extra attention and didn't want to leave. There are some fees which got a little confusing, but I understand it. We checked in and bought the day use ticket. If you want towels, you pay a deposit at the towel area. But if you want a locker (which is the same location as the towels) you pay at the front desk. It would be nice to have one price, one location as a package for it all. I would definitely go to Baldi again!

Splash and Play, But Eat Elsewhere
We got a day pass with lunch included. There were many pools and we were delighted that each pool had a sign that listed its temperature. There are some thermal pools that have cool water pools nearby. At night, the colorful lights on the waterfall tower were spectacular! There were shallow pools with built-in lounges and a swim-up bar in another. The design is certainly well thought out. The customer service was stellar! As you walk around, when staff pass by, they always verbally acknowledge you. BUT the lunch buffet was pretty horrible. The pork in BBQ sauce was tasty, but I nearly broke a tooth because it was so tough. The rolls were stale and dry. The mashed potatoes were obviously instant and way too salty. The veggies were cooked to death, the chicken was dust, the pasta was mush, and both sauces, red and white, were watery and insipid. Desserts were your typical jello-like cheesecake and a fruit sponge with more whipped cream than cake. The best thing we ate was the fresh pineapple. It was sweet and delicious. DO NOT pay $22 for lunch. Leave, eat, and come back. Trust me.

This hot springs may use the actual hot water from Arenal but it is so artificial in every other way. It feels like you are indoors although it may technically be open to the outdoors. The system is too complicated and the dressing rooms too small for the volume of people. Not fun for grown ups. Plus the buffet dinner was the worst food we had in Costa Rica.

Do not have anything to do with Baldi Springs Resort and Spa. They are crooks and will steal you blind. Do not work with any company (booking.com, Expedia, etc) that promotes them. They are scam artists at best.

Baldi was a very nice hotel. Our room was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and the hot springs were relaxing.

We particularly appreciate Josif at the desk. When a tour company never picked us up, Josif called another company and arranged for us to join their tour only a couple of hours later. He was fabulous!

The restaurant was nice for breakfast and ok for dinner. I did like the mil fruit salad quite a bit. The only suggestion I'd make is to include one hand towel in the room with the other towels.

Great place a little pricey though.
We went in the evening and lighting was quite low so traversing through the pools i scraped my leg and bumped my toe a lot, also not every stairway in and out of pools had handrails beware,it was very relaxing under the waterfalls.

We had a full day pass to the hot springs, but ended up just going for a few hours. After reading very scary reviews about the water slides (people have gotten very hurt), we figured our teens would not want to spend the whole day there if they couldn't use the slides. A few hours was perfect - we went in the afternoon from around 4-7 and had a dinner reservation at 7. The different pools were really nice and it's a beautiful environment. The restaurant is a buffet and I've been told it's the same for lunch and dinner. The food was fine - not terrible and not great. One tip is they charge you a $10 deposit for towels and it's a whole thing trying to get them - we brought our own from our hotel which was super easy.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and now that I come here with my entire family visiting from the States, I have never experienced such horrific, horrendous, and incomprehensible service from a hotel. To be clear, for 2 nights for 2 family suites and 3 jr. Suites, my family is paying $6,300!!!!!! When we arrived the guard would not let but one car park in the secured lot for us to check-in to the hotel (even though our rooms have already been paid for months in advance). The security guard preferred to let 6 children run across a national highway and let us leave our cars with all the luggage unattended because the lot was supposedly full. There were at least 10 spots available, let alone the huge parking lot they have for clients normally. Dinner by the pool was another crappy experience, more than a 40 minute wait to get margarita pizzas, a fruit plate, and burgers!!!!! And none of it came at the same time. Then we get to our room after being in the public dirty water and our shower doesn’t work!!! This was not a new issue as clearly stated by their maintenance man. I’m am writing this at midnight having tried to fix this for almost 3 hours!!! The reception is no longer answering our calls from the room. The hotel manager still has yet to meet with us, although I have requested a meeting multiple times. And they can’t move rooms because the hotel is supposedly full. We were never treated as honorable and valuable returning clients, let alone first time clients, spending a lot of money for a wonderful family holiday for Christmas. I will never stay here again as they seemingly dedicate themselves to the hordes of day passers that come. Their hotel clients are treated like absolute crap! Don’t stay here! I will never bring back my family or recommend this horrible place to my clients ever again. This place is a total shi!tshow.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I feel it’s necessary here.
We went to Baldi last August.
We were in the water for 5 mn (we paid our tickets about 20 minutes earlier) when my 8 year old son cut his foot (6 cm long / 0.5 cm deep) by sliding on the edge of a stone at the bottom of the pool.
It's unfortunate, but I understand that it could happen.
I carried my son to reception where the staff took good care of him and properly disinfected the wound.
What is absolutely unacceptable is the attitude of Baldi’s management.
Due to the severity of the injury, we had to immediately leave Baldi to take my son to a clinic in La Fortuna.
I asked kindly if we could be reimbursed for our entries - around 100 USD for 2 adults and 3 children for 5 minutes of swimming: the receptionist checked with the manager and came back telling us that it was impossible and that it is clearly written on the tickets that they are not refundable *for any reason*. I was shocked and asked to speak to the manager. I was told that it was impossible. I insisted, but they kept giving me the same answer. The person in front of me was the one who had made me pay for entry a few dozen minutes earlier and I felt that she was really sorry for me, but obviously the instructions were clear.
I reported Baldi's behavior to the ToutCostaRica assistance team. ToutCostaRica called Baldi but not only did they continue to refuse a refund, but they also claimed to have offered to take us to the clinic, which is a lie.
Following this incident, ToutCostaRica decided to exclude Baldi from its partner network.
So the pools are beautiful and I'm sure we could have had a great time, but before going there, know who you are going to give your money to.

Bought tickets in town and then went to the resorts. The resort said the guy in town does sell tickets, but that he had to go tot he bank to pay before I could enter. So we waited outside most of the day.

We have been to this resort five times over the last 7 years. It is more kid oriented than other resorts in the area. This year we booked the junior suite for 2 adults and 2 kids. We prepaid and upon arrival were told that we only booked for 2 adults. Despite having in writing proof of our reservation for 4 total persons, the front desk manager demanded an other $250 per night for the kids, making the room close to $700 per night. They refused to allow us to talk to the general manager and we ended up paying to stay. Last year we paid around $360 for the same room. This was very poor customer service and we won’t go back. Tabagon is where we used to go before we had children and we will switch to that.
