Excellent tour of Coffee, Cacoa, and Sugarcane. Lots of good information on the origin of the crops and production. The smells and tastings were the best part! The views from the farm were breathtaking.

On time and professional. This was a fantastic tour and the guide was very good at spotting and identifying wildlife. Saw a green viper, rhinoceros katydid, several birds, glass butterfly, red eyed tree frog, 2 sloths, porcupine, possum, olingo, walking stick, anole, and a tarantula.

Wasn’t one of the tours I was really looking forward to but was so glad we came. It is really interesting learning about the coffee process and getting to see all the different stages. I now understand a lot of the terms and differences in the roasts. Was even better getting to try the chocolate! Well worth it. FYI they do have a lot of tours and it is a bit like a procession from one stop to the next but you aren’t hurried and feel like they give each group enough time and space.

we booked this tour online using the farms website. There were at least two other tours that are similar to this one. We had a very good tour guide who is a younger member of the family that owns the farm. She was quite funny and engaging. We went through the various crops grown on the farm learning what it takes to successfully grow coffee, cacao, and sugar cane, as well as seeing how each of these crops is processed for the market. We had already been to a cacao plantation earlier in our trip so that portion of the tour was not new to us. The coffee bean plantation was of special interest to me as I am a committed coffee drinker and wanted to learn more about the product that feeds my habit. The sugar cane processing was also very interesting to us as we had the opportunity to produce our own brown sugar which is basically created from manual stirring of a reduced sugar cane syrup mixture. This was pretty cool as this is the kind of sugar that you find on the shelves at the small markets in Costa Rica. When the tour is complete there is a showroom/store in the main building where you can try samples of the various coffees available for purchase, as well as cocoa and sugar cane. Note that the majority of really good coffee produced in Costa Rica is exported. However, you can buy some of the good coffee to take home with you. Recommended
