They are a great company. We went white water rafting with Figo, who was a great guide. We had a very good time.

Awesome day of rafting down Rio Balsa. The company picked us up from our hotel and we enjoyed the day. The rapids were great (eveyone was soaked) and the rafting guides were very knowledgeable and safety conscious. After the trip we stopped for a great lunch and could do some swimming. Would definitely recommend Desafio Adventure Company.…

Even though we are retired (active seniors) we decided to "go for it." We were absolutely glad we did. The guides were very careful to give clear and complete safety instructions. The rafting itself was exciting and challenging, but not overwhelming. They warned us we would "get wet" and this happened early and often! They had a kayak following us and taking pictures (extra cost, but absolutely worth it). The pictures preserved amazing highlights. For example, one showed our guide, Rodlan, in back of our raft had been thrown several feet "into the air" above the raft. However, he landed safely in the raft, and we would never have known of this, but for the pictures. (And I thought "catching air" was only for motorcross!) In several pictures, the waves crashing over us make it a challenge to see us in the raft, so the promise we'd "get wet" was absolutely fulfilled. We felt challenged, but we never felt endangered. The pictures were delivered (as promised) within 48 hours (via DropBox). They have been a smash hit on social media. We were so glad we choose this company, and this adventure, and we invite others to "give it a try." You won't regret it if you do. (But you absolutely should regret a wonderful missed opportunity if you don't! )…

My 12-year-old grandson and I had a wonderful 3-day, custom-designed tour package with Monteverde's Desafio agency. Comfortable accommodations at Las Colinas Hotel, within 2-3 blocks of La Fortuna's central plaza, surrounded by stores, markets, curio shops, restaurants, museum, etc. Our tours, conducted by knowledgeable (bilingual) guides, included: a rain forest canopy zip line (12 platforms), Arenal volcano guided walking tour, luxurious thermal pools at Badi, a gentle, level 2 rafting trip on the Serapiqui River, and an excursion to the incredibly impressive La Fortuna waterfall. All transportation and most meals were included. Took many pictures that will eventually become part of our memory book. Angelina Fuentes coordinated everything for us with prompt, friendly, excellent communication via e-mail. Everything went smoothly according to plan. USDs, colones and credit cards are accepted everywhere by everyone, so no need to buy colones. All in all, these were 3 unforgettable and educational days-- a special bonding time with my grandson ~ Pura Vida! P.S. ~ Don't be afraid of a little rain. Afternoon rains come and go quickly during the rainy season. It's Nature at work.…

Just did the canyoning tour with my wife and had a fantastic time scrambling and rappelling down waterfalls in a beautiful jungle canyon! Highly recommend it! They recommend water shoes but Chaco sport sandals were perfectly fine (loose flip flops would fall off). You need a moderate amount of physical fitness and of course the desire to slide down a rope for a few hundred feet in a narrow canyon but the guides explain everything and make you feel very safe. You do of course get completely wet!…
