I visited specially because of the Chef. I have dined before with Joel R and enjoyed. This wasn’t an exception, food and beverage were nice, not over the top and not overly expensive. I enjoyed the experience.

Walked in for a slice of cake and tea to discover horrendous prices paired with microscopic pastries. After some thought decided that USD 10 for something the size of two fingers was just too obscene. Thanks, but no thanks. The building is nice, tho!

Bund18 is the restored Chinese headquarters for the former Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China. It’s a incredibly chic venue hosting many famed clubs and international restaurants from some of the best chefs in the world. Mr and Mrs Bund and Michelin-starred Hakkasan is found here as well as L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon which takes up prime space on the ground floor. Walking by the the window of L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon will make your mouth water with anticipation.

We had a lovely lunch at the Neuhaus cafe in Bund18, a new shopping, cafe and restaurant complex in the old Chartered Bank building on the Bund.

The chicken salad was good, the prawn salad even better. Drinks were expensive with Tsingtao at a costly 48 yuan for a 296ml bottle.

Overall a good stopping off point for lunch with a lovely cool lobby in a great location for Bund tourists.
