If you are in the area, great, but I would not take much time to get here except for major events (western new year or celebrations), it is also better at night due to the bars.

Shanghai Xintiandi is where you can discover the city's premier gathering place to relax and take a look at the historical surroundings and local culture. Xintiandi Style is a platform for local and international designers. Chinese Designer Brand such as Ji Cheng, Jade on Plus, Creazioni, Awaylee, Ben by Song Karen Shen, Uooyaa, Wolee, 10th shop, etc, etc. and be found here. Get a copy of the Shanghai Xintiandi Dining Guide at Customer Service and you can find unlimited choice of both Eastern and Western food. After your visit to the Complex, take a walk around the area to find our more. Just explore!

The area
Neighbourhood: Xintiandi
The refurbishment of a block of old shikumen into a carless entertainment center called Xintiandi, filled with restaurants, shops and bars, turned this area below South Huangpi Road into one of Shanghai’s most fashionable areas. Luxe condos house people who can afford the high-end brands that fill the malls and shops along Madang Road. The pleasant Taipinghu Park provides the area with green space and is also home to Shanghai Fashion Week twice a year. It’s not all glitter and glamour, though, as the rise of Danshui Road has given the Xintiandi area a shot of toned-down character. Small bars and cafes, mostly owned by locals, have people hanging out in a formerly quiet, unassuming part of the neighborhood.
