Beautiful lake. TERRIBLE guide service. 4 of us drove 4 1/2 hours for a 3am to 9am trip. The guide didnt show up until 6am and only had enough baitfish to last an hour. The rest of the time we sat in the boat and watched him throw a spoon for hours. Do NOT waste your time or money. We spoke to Mike on the phone for a month but then when we got to Alabama he sent us out with someone else. We expressed we werent happy and Mike shrugged it off like he didnt even care. I live at Smith lake and it is beautiful year round. Our children and grandchildren love to visit. The water is very deep and clear. There are sandy beaches too. We go out in a pontoon boat and pull the kids on a float. We all love to go to places where we can jump off the rocks - some as high as 35ft. Our rule is that everyone wears a life jacket for safety. We have fun fishing too. We catch and release and have caught fish up to 16 lbs, but there are much larger ones we have seen. Their are plenty of homes available for rent by day, week, and longer. During the summer, there is an ice cream boat for cold treats. You don’t have to get wild with skis, knee boards and floats. People also paddle board, kayak and swim. The people are friendly and will often be seen sitting on their docks. Just cruising the lake sight-seeing and checking out the beautiful architecture is very relaxing. Come and enjoy one of the cleanest lakes in the country.…

As a property owner ON Smith I see too many "visitors " creating HUGE WAKES around our property, docks and shorelines, u ARE RESPONSIBLE F-O-R UR WAKE AND THE DAMAGE IT CAN AND WILL DO, Soo please enjoy the water and HELP keep the trash n garbage to a minimum as well... PLEASE ..
