~1 hour hike round trip

We did this hike in ~1 hour during the middle of the day. It was hot but manageable - water needed was 1.5 liters for two people. The spring is rather chilly so to put your head under the water source dripping out from the rock is A MUST!!!

Don't bother!

Our guide was reluctant to take us and we soon saw why. A long way from where we were visiting to see not much. I guess if you're setting off from the village/ tourist centre it might be worth it, but not from the other side of the reserve.

Worth a stop on a tour

Nomads offer you tea and a small area to explore and hike. Tea was unique and worth a try in this canyon .

Fantastic sand dune

Great experience climbing up the sand dune. The kids had a blast. We went in the end of December when the sun wasn't too bad. I cannot imagine doing this in the summer though. The view from the top of the hill was awesome. I would recommend climbing barefoot.

Good hiking spot . No water when I visited

Good hiking spot to witness the origin of the spring.. big tree and closer. Mind your steps since some places are slippery and also has boulders.

Go for the view

After a small climb you reach the source. It is not that spectacular but the view is. (Just like everywhere in Wadi Rum, you dont know where to look first)

Lovely but Wadi Rum Has a much Better to Offer

Lawrence's Spring is a short walk from the valley up through the rocks. It's not that it's a waste of time or anything but there are far nicer things to see on Wadi Rum in my opinion. It was almost non existant on our visit as it was so dry, perhaps after rains there'd be more to see?
I did find it interesting though when our guide was taking about the water levels and how it is the only spring for miles
So if you have time then, yes go and see it. But dont let it take from your drive through the wadi.

We Didn't Do The Climb But Great Photo Opportunities!

On our 4 hour jeep tour we stopped here for a lunch. As we were still shattered from walking to the Monastry in Petra we declined the walk up. The staff at the souvenir/tea tent were friendly and we bought 2 red and white dog tooth scarfs, he wanted 7 JD each but we got him down 12 JD for both.

This is one of the few spots in the Wadi Rum desert where there is still water. Sort of interesting to see camels still happily using it. But it’s a bit touristy, since tour guides are based around here to rent camels to tourists for rides. Reeks of camel dung and urine.
